Mixed bag. I'm mostly having a blast with it. Love the nostalgia. The new mobs are fun and the HQs are pretty involved. Nice mix of raid and group content. It could have used a bit more in the way of instances for the lower-mid tier crowd (the 20-40 set), but all in all it scales well from L1 on up to 70.

I would've like a more robust faction system and I still think that making "New Tunaria" aggro to good aligned high elven player characters by default was a mistake.

I absolutely hate how transmuting was handled.

All in all it's been good fun so far. I haven't yet gotten into the raid content of it yet, but given the quality the expansion has displayed so far I don't think that I will be disappointed (our raiding alliance is still poking at KoS content).

Great fun, good zones, perhaps more quests would have been better though Smiley: smile

I'm not much for tradeskilling myself, but I've heard little good be told about tinkering and transmuting.

It doesn't suck. Not the greatest either. All in all I don't hate it.

I have mixed opinion. Not the greatest expansion they could have made but... it looks beautiful! Happy they have brought the good ol' port back. The fae race have a huge advantage over other races since no spell such as levitation exist( and half of my death are due to falling off a cliff). New places to hunt is always good.

On the down side I hate Gfay the way its hard to get around definatly not a good noob zone.

Great expansion. Zones are great, quests are fun, and the extra fluff is great. Save, tinkering. 1000 loams for TEIR 1!!! That's just crazy...

Well the nostalgia is REALLY great and I think its smart from a marketing standpoint too. GFay is very hard to navigate, I like BB, kelethin sets the standard for fantasy cities its absolutely marvelous and the music is great. Havent really gotten into transmuting or the new gods but all in all this is the level of quality SOE has to attain to be able to grow the playerbase of EQ2. Lets just hope that the marketing people at SOE get inspired too. Great expansion

Imo echoes of faydwer is the best expansion yet! I like the zone layout, the fae,and come on they brought back kelethin! lol

I don't think the starting area for Kelethin is well-designed for new players. I happened to start there and there wasn't really a "do this to learn combat" then "this to learn crafting" feel to the area. The Freeport/Qeynosian island nursery is much better for these sorts of things. Plus, I reallydidn't like how Kelethin was set up! It's hard as heck to get around. I deleted my Fae and moved on with other races.

love it!

done a few quests recently where i had to stay in one area and kill respawns till a named popped. stayed in some areas for hours, that may sound like a bad thing but it meant i looted a few things got some exp and got a decent feel for the areas.

in the other continents i seemed to be going to areas kill a mob that if wasnt up kill ph and he popped next time run on to next place rinse and repeat.

i much prefer the quests that send you to areas and make you stay a while and enjoy it.
love kelethin, still trying to work out how to get my mian a citizenship.

dissapointed with felwithe (new tunaria)

having lots of fun, hope next expansion is along the same lines. KUNARK anyone?

I loved the graphics and the nostalgia of the zone and I loved the look of the Fae and the way they moved, but I got bored with it pretty fast. It's a lot of fun for a new character to about level 15 and after that there's just not a lot of variety.

I've dragged my main char out to Klak a couple of times, but it's such a long run it's just not worth the trouble when I can get comparable exp and loot in DoF. I really hate how difficult the zones are to navigate.

I do like that they added the ports again. I just need to get my butt out to the druid rings to harvest those plants. Somehow I just haven't had the motivation.

The diety quests just failed to catch my interest. I guess my Swashy is agnostic.

Actually, I picked up the boxed set that included DoF when I got EoF. I poked around in EoF for a week or so, discovered DoF and never looked back. For my playstyle DoF is MUCH better.

I love the 1-70 level content. While it may not be equal for each level it leaves no one in the dust. I'm impressed w/the scenery although I must admit getting around is rather difficult.

I hate the transmutting and tinkering. As if things weren't already over priced enough on the broker, especially for lower level toons, now most spells and gear are rediculously over priced. Not to mention the outrageous amounts of those items it requires to level up anyway.

I like the diety aspect but its not very clear what you need to do and how it will benefit you in the end.

The Fae characters are great. I like how its completely different from the others. Also enjoy the "glide" factor especially like someone else mentioned there are no levitation spells/potions (hint hint SOE).

Over all a lot of good, some bad. 4 out of 5 Stars :)

i have to give the expansion a major thumbs up. i spent alot of time in kelethin in eq1, and while this city brings back nostalgia i also love the improvements to it. and i know alot of people dont like the hazards of gfay, but i like the scenery and the cluster compared to the wide open flat zones. adds an element of mistery and i think more involvement since you actually have to find your way instead of just picking a direction and running. ive spent so much time there ive gotten to know the inns and outs of that zone fairly well. which is great for the times i take group members cliff hoping and they panic thinking they will die, but end up with just the right amount of hit points left :D just goes to show furys can be mischevious too hehe

i also am loving having my ports back.
i started tinkering, and cried my way through the first few tiers, but now that im higher up in it, im really enjoying it. the foraging is a pain, but i get tons of nifty lil toys to make now and it makes up for it.
i've also been helping to get my brother started on transmuting, and thats actually been fun too, and now that i know all the lil tricks to it, i think i'll be makin a transmuter of my own.

the only negative i see is the limited number of instances for the lower tiers.
most of the ones made though are interesting, ive mentored others with my fury several times just to be able to do innovation. :D
