As I was tooling around the left side menu bar to see what improvements have been made to the sight, I clicked on the Faction List, which I think I've never clicked on before.

It shows a long list of the various groups in Norrath that can be affected by faction, either through killing mobs or doing quests.

I was particularly interested because I want to get enough faction with the Qeynos guilds (you know, the ones that give you the City Tasks) to be able to purchase a title from a vendor. And since I've done enough writs to kill a whale, I figure I'd be able to get several titles.

Unfortunately, I quickly found out, which I already knew but had forgotten, that when you do a writ for one guild and gain faction, you lose faction with other guilds. So all this time while I've been doing 1 writ from each of the 4 guilds at the same time, my faction with all of them has gone nowhere.

Not to worry, a few dozen trips to Barren Sky with single writs in hand should do the trick.

Did they changed that back ? Long ago they changed it so that when you make a writ you werent losing status with other factions anymore.
Or are we just victims once again of outdated info ? :D

Yeah, that's no longer accurate unless they changed it back very recently (I haven't done a writ for a few weeks). Guild writs for one faction should no longer lower the other city factions. Hasn't for quite some time.

Yeah, I do believe that the info is outdated. It used to be like that, definitely was, but I'ld have to check my faction list whilst doing a couple of writs to be certain. However, considering I've only done Qeynos guard and Concordium quests recently (the basilisks are the easiest quests to do), the other two should be very bad indeed. (which they aren't, last I checked anyway)

(on another note, it is still very odd that my faction with the Freeport Militia is actually better than the one with the Priests in Qeynos. Not to mention the Qeynos Royal Guard)

On a side note - you might want to do writs enough to kill a whole family of whales, as your own city factions is still at this time the longest, hardest, biggest pain in the *** to level (which totally makes no sense but heh). Far back when they werent showing you your faction in numbers I remember it was taking 125 writs of the same faction (back then without doing writs from other factions or you had a faction hit) to get to the first title (Crier for me, was doing Ironforge). Then I THINK like 375 to get to the second title. I gave up after that, mostly when they changed the tradeskills system, because I used to always make a few extra to sell but now if you're a provisioner you have to basically sell at a loss +_+.
