Greetings and Welcome to Allakhazam's EQ2 Magical Realm! With the merger of EQ2 Ogaming and EQ2 Allakhazam under the Zam.com aegis we now have perhaps the most comprehensive EQ2 database available on the computerwebs.

Where does this vast cornucopia of information come from? Good question! For years uncounted Allakhazam has relied on the player base to submit information, give feedback and expand on our already existing database. Allakhazam is about the community and we rely on players actively contributing to it in order to keep our database uptodate and current. So if you notice that a mob, item or quest is not currently in the database this splendiferous guide will give you the basic tools needed to help submit the information quickly and accurately so the next time someone needs it they have it.

I noticed you are missing a Quest/Item/Mob how do I submit it?

Simple! Look at the toolbar on the lefthand side of the page. Near the top is a link "Submit Info". This will cause your email program of choice to open up. In the e-mail please try to include as much relevant info as possible as well as pictures. Note from Tamat! -There are a couple of things to remember when sending us screenshots. We never post screenshots with the User Interface showing; additionally, we never post screenshots that have been re-sized or 'obviously' edited in a 3rd party application. Send us the screenshots directly from your EQ2 Screenshot folder.

If you would like to send us your screenshot please do so by emailing them to Tamat@allakhazam.com. Please include a caption or name of the screenshot in addition to your character name and server.
***NOTE*** For the sanity of our Admin staff please try to submit the information in the most aesthetically pleasing and concise means possible.

Can I have an example of what Information I should provide?

Of course, remember more is better than less.

For an Item - Cropped picture of the item, where it dropped and what it dropped off of. Example: Vyemm's Fang dropped off Lord Vyemm in The Laboratory of Lord Vyemm.

For a Quest - Quest name, quest giver, pictures of questlog and reward if possible. Is it part of a chain, if so what comes before and after. Example: Poking at the Paranormal given by Annelo Juko (/loc x,y,z) in Lesser Faydark. Pics of Quest log and reward Required Mob can be found at /loc x,y,z.

For a Mob/NPC - Proper name, Zone, /loc, level. Screenshot if possible. You know the drill.

The Mob/Item/Quest is in the database but it lacks information!

Feel free to email in further information using the above methods. Also you can post a reply underneath the quest/mob/item. Posting a reply allows for player feedback for that extra little bit of information!

The Comments are GONE!!
Due to sheer size and difference in the allakhazam/ogaming databases they couldn't port over all the comments that came with the quests. A shame I know since they were full of helpful tips and suggestions. However Allakhazam's has for years allowed and encouraged you to post your own comments.

You will see underneath each and every quest an open post box. Put in a title and fill in the information you think would be useful to the next guy/gal.

In Conclusion

The site is only as good as you make it. By providing feedback, by submitting information, by posting replies you help expand the knowledge base for other players. This knowledge is free to all players, so lend a helping hand and contribute!

I notice the crafted items are showing their stats from before the crafting overhaul. Is the procedure the same for updating existing information?

Hmm I would PM that to an admin, probably a glitch in porting over the data.

Thank you for posting this guide. This is a sticky for sure!

As for the crafted items showing stats from pre-revamp, that's mainly because we haven't received new values yet. Anytime there is a revamp the old content stays in our database until people send us the new "correct" values.

Does this include submitting skill information for the various classes? I want to send in all of my paladin skill information.

Thx

I want to add a note here about the new Wikibase.

With the Wikibase, you can now correct bad info on Quest, Zone and Mob pages so long as it is in the text area. DB fields still have to be edited by an admin.

Just click the Edit tab on the wiki menu bar above the text area, and Save at the bottom of the text editor window when you are done. Be sure to put something in the one-line edit summary so we can see in Recent Changes what you did.

As the site has evolved, this guide is getting obsolete. I'm un-stickying it, and I'll get something more current up.
