Which Priest Sub-Classes Are Best For Soloing?Follow

I would like to play a healing class, but definately want to be -able- to solo as best as possible for a healing class. Does anyone know which class/es would be best for that? For example, in WOW, the druid (my favorite for the shape changing) could solo some of the toughest monsters in the game, albiet it took them a day to do so, but all the same, they could last. Any help is appreciated, I'm definately looking forward to playing.

So far I've got my eye on the Fury and Defiler.

Thanks so much!

Oh yeah, also, are the RP servers well populated, and are those Good v Evil? I'm not sure I'm up for PvPing until I get the hang of it at least.

Thanks again =)

Oops, one more thing, can alot of the cooler spells, like the defilers avenger series, be cast on themselves?

Oh, and does anyone know a website I could read about all the spells? I went to EQ2i and it's missing most of the spell information.

Hmmm I am not overly familiar with Priests but I do know that Fury is the one most solo/priest types take since they have a big stick (though it comes with a long timer). Had a buddy playing a shaman (defiler i think) and he enjoyed the class as lot for soloing.

Overall though it is a priest class which means no matter what you choose it will probably solo slower than most others. Of course that is the price one must pay if you want to get to the end game and be in demand.

That being said I have found grouping to be marginally less painful in EQ2 than most other games. It is also good exp and doesnt require a huge 3 hour investment. So if you do level a healer whether it be a Fury or Defiler you will be lucky in that if you get the urge to group you won't have trouble finding one.

Ive played a Fury and while any healer will solo slower than say a monk, they can hold their own. Its going to be more of a matter of strategy than button mashing with them though. That goes for any healer type. Never played a defiler so I cant say.

Furys do have some amazing spells for DPSing and I know once they hit their stride, especially when it comes to AAs they can do some pretty major DPS too. My hubby took over my Fury while I play my monk and many times I have a hard time keeping aggro off of him. We like to parse out the fights we do in groups or raids as well and surprisingly the Fury with mainly DPS AAs, can really kick some DPS ***.

I have to agree that the druids comprise the 2 best solo classes among priests.

I play both a 70 warden and a 40 fury and although the fury has a greater selection of damage spells (DoTs & nukes) the wardens damage spells recycle faster so I believe the damage out put is nearly the same over time. In addition, they both get root, furys get a group invis and wardens get evac.

All are potent tools for solo or group play.

This will change some once the fury is 55 (Non-Encounter AoE DoT, 200 damage to everything in range every few seconds for 36 seconds), much more at 65 (Stuns you and nukes one target in range every second for 600-800 for 16 seconds) and a ton more once the fury has alot of EoF AA's. The warden 55 ancient teaching is nice, the 65 is meh.

A damage oriented fury with:
-4/4/8/8 in the intelligence line gives 30% spell crits, +35ish to focus (Less interupts) and disruption (Less resists)
-21+ points in the energy tree to lower recast & casting time on all your damage spells by 33%, final AA allows you to go into nuking mode for -50% heal strength but +50% spell damage. Also increases mana cost by 50% but:
-Animal form (last ability on left tree): Self or group mage/priests, 60 second stifle that gives +30 or 40 to melee skills, 100% haste, every attack procs 200+ damage, drains 80 mana and lowers agro.

Go into nuke mode, save enough mana to cast HoT, switch to animal form and refill mana bar in about 30 seconds. With the 50% damage AA up I've hit just under 5k on the group nuke with a crit and 4k on the single target.
