SOE is pretty famous for their goof ups, so I give them a little leeway when it comes to patches/expansions.

However EoF/LU #29 is bunk.

-They didn't scale KoS to new combat
-Huge issues with end game avoidance
-resists are broken and worthless
-safefall seems to be broken (super small chance to level up compared to before)

Seems the more time we have the more huge problems people are finding. To be fair SOE has acted rather quickly when it comes to fixing some stuff such as KoS imbalance and that annoying chat channel bug. They also seem to be moving on with Avoidance in a way that will probably solve the problem.

The simple fact is that they released a combat revamp that was so bob damned buggy that it is making the game a farce to play. Sure they might have it worked out in a month or two but what are we to do until then?

I really tried to be positive about this expansion and combat change. Anyone that reads the official forums would probably have seen me defending it for a long while. However enough is enough. I think I am going to cancel my account. If they fix the game in a couple months I might come back. However I am not paying SOE to play a fundamentally broken game.

I'm not that unhappy about the combat changes myself. Heck, I took down a named lvl 66^^^ heroic on my own at lvl 67.

I do not have any experience with raids or the likes however, so I have no idea as to how that is affected.

I hope you reconsider, but ultimately if you can't play the game like you want it to, there is no real point in playing it.

Hopefully they'll fix it soon!

I <3 Bodhi. Your rants are so fun to read. You, like me, have a flare for the dramatics. You fly off the handle and unleash hell at a moments notice. Give SOE some time and they will fix it. Besides, if you cancel now, what are you going to play? WoW? You already know how that is going to end.

P.S. Who yelled at you for the avatard? I liked the Hilton/Lohan one much better.

I am pretty patient with new content. I have been playing MMO's long enough to not get my sh'it in a knot over the little things.

However the sheer number of problems is astounding.

They gave themselves 9 months for this expansion. That is three months more than the usual 6 month round they tend to go with. It still came out so broken that it boggles the mind even given SOE standards.

They released a combat system that is fundamentally broken on so many levels that it is astounding, then expect us to deal with it for 2-3 months while they fix it?

That makes an Angry Bodhi!

Isnt it meant that a lvl 68 heroic aint meant to be soloed by a single person Zie??

Most definitely, I still can't believe I actually got away with it. But I did use up 2 Marr spells for it and it was a caster type mob. (one of those Marr spells is a very good ward for 5000 damage which also does 50% damage of all damage received to the caster)

Yesterday I had problems defeating a lvl 60^^^ heroic named for the signature quest in Lesser Faydark (Ironwood, first named kill to get the shards), so I guess that first mob just got a lot of bad rolls. Smiley: smile

And in all honesty are you surprised by all that ? It's not like it's the first time SOE brings live rushed and broken content hehehehe.

Why pay for a whole section in the company to actually test their content and control its quality when you can get people to pay you for doing the same job ?

Live beta testing FTL !!!

Compared to what SoE has done in this past this really isn't that bad at all. IMO this expansion is the best one SoE has ever made. There are alot of issues but lately SoE has actually done a nice job with EQ2 so i'm optamistic that they will fix all the bugs that EoF and other parts of the game has.

EoF is great, I have no qualms there (well a few but only minor run of the mill ones).

I think my main sticking point is GU 29. The thing is that they rushed the patch to coincide with EoF. They released it obviously before even minimal amounts of proper testing were done. I don't think in my 5 to 6 years of MMO gaming I have ever seen such a raw and poorly implemented patch.

The bugs in it have been huge.

SOE have been doing there best to solve these issues as quickly as possible however that still doesn't change the fact that they have dumped this poorly designed patch on us and expect us to pretty much beta test it on live servers. It will be at least a month, probably more before they have the most glaring bugs resolved. Probably longer for the smaller ones that only affect niche portions of the population.

So here I am paying to play a broken game where avoidance tanking is borked, resists are a joke and it is obvious that end game content isn't finished. Very bunk indeed.

I must be very lucky that I don't have any problems with the new expansion. Since the EOF release, I've gone through Nest, HoF, Aca, Klak, Obelisk, Catatomb, SoS, PoA with guardian, monk, and berserker tank without noticing any unplayable problem? So what is so broken? Level 70 raid zone? If that is the case, then it only affects raiding. And I won't consider that as game breaking as the rest of the content seems to be working just fine.

Well for all the people who experienced crippling login problems

for the tanks with completely borked mechanics

for the raids that were wiped on trash in kos

for all the players who bought fabled adornments only to have them be nerfed to less than treasured adornments

for the myriad of other bugs taht are too numerous to list

It is cool that it didn't affect you in the slightest, or at least that you didnt notice how it affected you. That makes it all better and trivializes the fact that for a lot of people this patch represented problems that crippled game play for them.

Ha HA!

The power supply on my gaming machine blew out on me a couple days before the expansion released and I just got a replacement a couple days ago so I /just/ got back in-game this week. As far as my gameplay is concerned: Smoothest patch ever!

While I noticed a ton of bugs, I do enjoy being able to actually help with off tanking finally in the zones without getting one shotted. Two shotted? Sometimes. But Im not one shotted anymore!

Seriously I've not seen the problem you mentioned.

My guild has 40++ active account, I have not heard anyone complaining about crippling login problem. About 6-7 active level 60-70 tank (monk, guardian, and berserker), they seem to be enjoying themselves soloing and tanking for group. What is this borked tanking mechanics that you are talking about. And since when adornments affects game play to the extend of crippling it?

I'm not picking on you, but you have not mention anything that can be classified as crippling the game. I think you have too high expectation of the game. Just take a look at the Ms Window that you run the game on, a few thousands bugs during release. If you think you can produce a bug free software on release date, be my guess and try it yourself. Most game only need to be good enough for release.

Anyway, I'll continue to have fun with the game.
