Bezerker dps?Follow

#1 Nov 12 2006 at 1:30 PM Rating: Decent
The topic says it all really, me and my friend are starting to play eq2 together, and he is starting with a healing class, i thought i might take up bezerker as i like to dps, but it would help us both alot to have a tank.....

so as a bezerker i can understand u can tank most instances up untill end-game raiding, this is really my question, is the bezerker dps up to par with say a Scout? or even a mage?

(i have played wow for about a year and a half and im a rogue in there, that class is perfect for me because im competative, i hate healing, and also buffing, i like being #1 on the dps meters =))

i was just wondering weather picking bezerker would be a good idea for a few things, i know ill be able to be usefull to the group and also decent in a me+my friend sinarior as he can heal and i can dps.

So my questions are as follows:
1) Can bezerkers keep up with scout/mage dps in endgame raiding.
2) Would it be easy enough to get in a guild as a zerker for dpsing in raids, as say a scout/mage.
3) In end-game raiding is alot of the dps gear (this is coming from a wow player so ive no idea what its like in eq2 end game raiding) but for example, rings/necks/back/1h weapons, will they be prioritsed to Scouts.

And taking all this information into account am i best just sacking the idea of going bezerker into account and stick with what im going at and go with assasin?

1) their straight up damage output is higher than a bards and higher than enchanters, those are the only scouts/mages they can outdamage (most of the time) Zerkers arnt great damage just better than gaurdian, if you want to play a fighter and want to be high DPS end game then i would go with monk or bruiser, altho their tanking ability is a bit lacking compaired to a warrior.
I had a friend play a zerker looking for damage output with heavy armor, and its just not that great because that would make them way too overpowered. Some guilds do use zerkers as MT in raids, but you gotta remember a tank is only as good as his gear. (from what i have seen the highest damage in the game is ranger/assassins (scouts) and Warlock/Wizard (mages). (I have out damaged a very large ammout of scouts on my bruiser, but never a wizard)
