No, not DSD for messing up all my hotbars during a MoA4 raid. She has something much more nefarious in store for her. No the ones that will be strangled are a lesser form of scum. Lvl 20 pick up groups.

I log on this afternoon and since I have completed Godking and MoA and didnt feel like doing Blackscale Sepulcher for DT access line I decided to give my lil ole Barbarian Berzerker Bodhi S'Angry some love. I was soloing when I get a group invite. I join and its a wife/husband team that want to quest but unfortunately we dont have any similar quests and we part amicably.

I decide to form my own TS giants group. So I send out the invite and form a not too shabby group. Zerker, Ranger, Conjurer, Fury, Defiler, Paladin. I figure we could fly to Coldwind Station and take it from there. Well two wipes later I am forced to take party the easy way around from South East station. Of course two people goto thundermist village then back to coldwin then to Southeast station so it takes 10 minutes. We form up and are doing quite well except the Paladin doesn't have griffon access and can't seem to find us. All goes somewhat well. We are slaughtering giants, two people ding. aaa

Now 15 minutes into fighting the Paladin finally shows during a fight with a Yellow heroic and proceeds to pull another one. The **** hits the fan but we manage to survive. So as group leader I clarify that I am MT and will be pulling since I am a higher level and in better gear. The paladin acknowledges and quickly starts running for a giant off in the horizon. The giant is so far off that it takes him 10 seconds to run there, the whole way every member of the group says 'dont pull', well the paladin he pulled. Sigh. In no mood for it I boot him just as he pulls aggro and watch him die.

Down to five members we continue and are doing good, the xp is flowing. The fury dings we all say congrats. We go to pull and Fury leaves group during fight and we all die. Everyone else leaves.

I'm left with my armour at 40% and no group. Turns out Bodhi really is angry. Smiley: mad

Hehe, the joys of pug's. Although your case does sound pretty bad actually, never had it that bad myself. It's especially the fact that the fury didn't even say a thing but just decided to leave that would really **** me off. That paladin was just annoying but the fury was sheer selfishness.

Worst I actually can recall is a pug to take down Bloodtalon for the HQ in TS. One of the members was way too high in level but wanted to "help" out.

First time he forgot to mentor down but he broke the encounter so no problems. Then he tried to mentor, for some reason thought he was mentoring and killed BT while everyone else just shouted out that he was not mentoring. No one got the update, but with the frequency that BT is up, that didn't last all that long. Took him out at 30 with a 35 assassin, it did get close actually.

Well on a happier note I ended up grouping later on and the same Paladin was there. I was chatting about it with the group leader and he mentioned that he was higher up in the Paladins guild and that he would just chat with him and make sure everything went smooth.

The Paladin was smooth from there on in and we both apologized for our actions earlier and I ended up going from lvl 24 to 26.

Finshed Bully - took me 18.5 hours and have no interest in completing collection stuff left over.... Great game. Great story line. But way too easy and short...

Back on Topic....

Bhodi. I feel your pain. I hardly group anymore because pick-up groups in EQ2 are painful expericences. I would say that 2 out of 10 are groups capable of funtioning. Even less if you want to actually work at getting exp... Then somone always dings, or loots a master, and then either goes LD or starts casting CoQ and teleports.

Therefore I spend the majority of my time soloing quests and grouping with the same guy when he is on. He is level 70 Wizzy and Uber Geared (deathtoll stuff).. He just menotors and turns off experience. Now that I am level 62, he doesn't even have to mentor. Luckily he has tons of time to play so I can usually group for an hour or so no problem.

It would really stink if I didn't have his help. I would probably have lost interest in EQ2 a long time ago...

I sepent Saturday night in a PUG. In about 3 hours went from just into 58 to 20% into 59 (with vitality). I won a pair of legendary boots and some other decent drops (boy, the loot in KoS is 100% better than anything in DoF, unfortunately for tradeskills.) We only had one death, a wizard, and she apologized for over-nuking and pulling aggro and didn't blame me. I think everyone else in the group had a 70 main or two and was levelling an alt. One of the better PUG's I've been in, there is hope... :)

Smiley: lol Dude, I was trying to make sure you didnt die awful deaths and actually contributed to the cause! Besides, I had to make you look good since Sep was there. But your hotbar abilities were so random I kept messing up! Smiley: lol All I did was move the buttons that did not affect the mobs out of the way and put the front attacks together, the backstabs together, and the sneak attacks together. Oh yeah and I changed your asst to ASST not target.

Also, what was up with you having your #1 button be attack when you could key an attack button like your space bar, thus giving you an extra space for more abilities?

Anyways, I laughed my *** of when SK was telling me you were whining to him. Oh and youre welcome for getting you that update Smiley: wink

Sucks to hear you got some selfish players in your group.

My hotbars were a holy mish mash of awesomeness that you defiled~!

(Of course its much more convenient now but never you mind that)

I think what I was most perturbed about was the change to assist. We were doing a HoF run for DT access and everytime we killed a mob I would lose my lock on Beiren, meaning I was having to constantly reapply assist.

So i just changed it back to target.

pssst, youre supposed to have it on asst, because there are many times the person you may be targeting has to target something else and keep the aggro of it. Actually, I learned that the hard way because I kept dying an insane amount of times being on a completely different mob than I was supposed to. Thats why they say to rehit your asst button everytime they call an asst.

And yeah, I didnt have time to "upkeep" your hotbar to a good orginization since I was trying to do it mid fights, but if you want Im more than willing to make your hotbars a lot easier for you to play with, so you dont have to button mash so much Smiley: grin

You would also find yourself parsing even higher if you got your like skills together so you could use them all properly. Just sayin

You know that during our last Labs run and our Lyceum run. I was consistently placing in the 3-6 spot for dps. Was that because of a re-worked hotbar or due to the fact that I have a new fabled rapier, a new relic chest and MoA piece.

The difference between /target and /assist became apparently while fighting Gnorbl with his pets that taunt you off him.

Give me 30 minutes to get familiar with your abilities and rework your hotbar button and I bet you would be placed in 2-4 spot. But having fabled items sure as hell doesnt hurt either. (gratz btw)

And about that target vs. asst? I wont say I told you so. At least not until I see you at the next raid haha
