Which cpu will EQ2 perform better on?Follow

I know for a fact that EQ2 isn't made to use dual-core cpu's....and will they ever add in support for it?

But anyway, since EQ2 only uses one core, would it be better to have a single-core processor of an overall faster speed? Example being 2.6ghz single-core cpu versus 2.2ghz dual-core.

I have an Athlon 64 3200+ right now, and i'm looking to upgrade to either:

Athlon 64 FX 55 2.6ghz or an Athlon 64 x2 4200+ 2.2ghz.

I know EQ2 is processor dependent, so i'm looking for the best choice in a cpu that will make the game run very smoothly on higher settings. I'm tired of all the lag and slowness.

The rest of my PC should be able handle everything else but I know my processor is holding me back.

So which one is the better choice? =/

seems like some work has been done and that you can play just fine with a dual core.
