Hot key tells?Follow

Here is the problem. I play on Tuesday nights and holidays with my son and his fiancee. In EQ Live I always lovingly called him a "loot *****." Now in EQ II "question mark *****" just doesn't have the same ring to it. It doesn't bother me that he does the "hops on pop" with the question marks but it does bother his fiancee. It is all done in good fun when it is done and now has become a game. We sit side by side with him in the middle when we play so I can't signal her without signalling him about a question marke he hasn't seen yet.

Got the picture?

Is there anyway for me to create a hot key that will send her a pre-set tell to tell her to look around quickly and run for a question mark? If need be I could attach it to an emote and just have it handy.

Since my mind is slipping into those hazy years I need someone to give me clear directions on how to do this. I also don't want to do anything that violates the EULA that could gety my **** kicked out of the game. It would give me a lot of joy to be able to do this with her without alerting him. It would be our secret if it could be pulled off over his large intellecutal brain. I could do this in EQ Live but I think the whole emote and hot key thing is more complicated or it's just that over the hill fog thing.

Thanks, Zoo

I think it is a simple thing but I could be wrong.

I think it should work the same as a pulling message where you use a macro that says;

/gsay incoming one %t carve him up boys (or whatever)

So in your situation, try creating a macro that says;

/tell <character name> question mark ahead

-or-

/tell <character name> question mark ahead and to your right

etc.

That should work. You could create a set of them to cover all the possibilites and keep them on a dedicated hotbar.

SOE has designed a nice macro system into the game or us. It is not a violation of the EULA since it is their utility.
