Sage - fun or only utilitarian?Follow

#1 Oct 05 2006 at 2:28 PM Rating: Decent
I am trying to decide on a tradeskill and was wondering if Sages can make anything fun, or only spells - period?
I actually think I would prefer making furniture, but lately I've been finding VERY few spell upgrades for sale on the market, so kind of figure if I want spells I may have to make them myself.
Any input would be welcome :)

Scholars break down like this;

Each type of scholar gets to do 2 things.

Alchemists make fighter spells and also make poisons & potions

Jewelers make scout spells and also make jewelery

Sages make mage spells and also priest spells

So you see, sages do only make spells but they get to make 2 different kinds (so twice as many spells) This is what makes sages the easiest crafting class to level up. Since you get so many new spells each level, the XP bonus awarded for first time pristine crafting will carry you through most or even all of each level. No other class gets as many recipes each level.

If you need a sage but want to make spells and also do something "fun", roll up an alt and use him just as a crafter. Pick something that you would have fun making - whatever that might be - and bring out that character whenever you want to craft fun stuff.
