I was planning on waiting to rejoin when EoF comes out to save the money on buying all the Xpacks.....but I found out that EQ2 classic only costs $10 and I just cant wait any longer!

I still plan to wait though to get the Xpacks till Nov 11 when EoF comes out though. That raises an AA question for me. How hard/important is it to gain AA experience on a higher lvl charcter. I wanted my main to be a Necro....but I dont want to start my Necro and get him up to like lvl 40 in the next month without any AA experience and then have him be gimped fora lot of lvls.

Second quick question is EQ2 Classic DOES include a free month of the game right? I see that EQ2 still costs $20 in stores....yet EQ2 classic is only $10...this is making me wonder if it doesnt come with the free month.

EQ2 + KoS bundle = 19.99 total

To buy EQ Classic - 9.99 To buy KoS seperate 19.99. Total 29.98

Go save yourself 10 bucks and just buy KoS + EQ2 bundle pack. You can then start getting AA's at lvl 20. As for the free month I couldn't answer, no site states it. However a quick glance over the box would tell you.

How so?

Someone buying it for you?

As of yet I have heard nothing of a EoF+KoS bundle.

The problem is that you will be missing out on a lot of easy AA experience. Exploration isn't a problem, you get new updates even for areas you have already found before.

But the collection, named kills and quests better than green can't be redone I believe.

And that's a big loss imo.

You won't be gimped, but it is a loss.

I'ld have to agree with bodhi, just get the KoS version.

Ahh the box copy of EoF will include EQ2, DoF, KoS and EoF.

Go buy EQ2 Classic and enjoy yourself. You will miss out on 20 or so AA's however once you ding lvl 70 all adventure XP you earn goes to AA's anyway so you will be able to make lvl 50 no problem, just a little extra work.

Thanks. Thats what I did. Got EQ2 classic today and just finished installing right now. Figured I can get a few charcters to lvl 20 and enjoy the game over the next month then spend a week or two enjoying Final Fantasy XII and by the time im done BAM EoF is out!

Only thing that sucks is I wont be able to create my main yet(I want a Fae Nec to be my main).

What are AA's? Oh! You mean achievements. :P

Don't confuse EQ2 Achievements with EQ1 AA's, which have become anything but "alternate".

EQ2 Achievements give you a little bit of extra power mainly in doing things your class doesn't do well in the first place. For instance most Templar Achievements revolve around DPS, while a couple at the end of a tree indirectly effect your healing power via shorter casting or recovery times.

You could have no achievements at all and no one would think you were gimped. EQ2 is a game of marginal improvements, spell upgrades, gear upgrades, achievements, skill level, etc. Taken all together they make you much stronger, while alone they are unnoticable. Good balance, IMHO.
