Ok, I hit 51 provisioner now I need to buy the book. I am only lvl 45 and enthusism took the carpet ride to SS and then to MD. I had been crafting away, naked, as usual, and thought I could easily find the person to buy the crafting books from. So I ran here and there, got attacked a few times but always managed to escape. I just can't seem to find what I am looking for and the maps don't seem to help. Could someone please fill me in on who and where I should look?

Thanks, Zoo

I believe you will find your books in a Court.

So begin the long journey of faction...

You must gain enough faction with a Court for the merchants to sell their wares to you. Best way is to start with the guys offering quests at the SS docks. Pick whatever Court you like - Coin, Truth, Blade.

Do quests at the SS docks to raise your faction - 5-6 quests should do it. Then head to Maj Dul to gain more. Best and quickest way to gain faction with your court is to kill the guards from opposing courts. They will always drop a coin, and you can turn those in at the building near th eentrance to Maj Dul. It shoudl take about 120 coins to get Warmly faction.

Then the merchants will sell you the shirts off their backs!

Or just buy the books from the Broker and never mess with faction.

I think you can buy the books without spending the time to get the faction..There are merchants in The Golden Scepter(I think thats what its called..Havn't logged into Eq2 for 2 months so I could have the name wrong..<_< >_>) for all Tradeskills..Good luck.

PS: The Golden Scepter is the building that is right across from the Court of Coin.

KuraiDeuce is correct there. The builing is the Golden Scepter and inside they sell all the crafting books from 51-60 and also all the app2 spells and combat arts from 51 - 60. The books will be a little more expensive then if you purchased them in one of the faction houses (coin, blades or truth), but they are all there in the one large building... kind of like a costco!

As far as being attacked in Maj'Dul, without any faction at all, the only things that will aggro on you are the gamblers and the bandits. The gamblers hang around in groups near the walls of the city but are all intent on their gambling games and so won't bother you unless you stray too close to where they are playing. They're static mobs so just give them a wide berth.

The bandits are wanderers who comb the back alleys and shadowy places and to my knowledge, never come out into the streets so stay away from those places and you'll be fine.

On the rare ocasion that someone flips the faction of the city to "tears", all the guards will be replaced and the streets will be filled with wandering bands of orcs and thieves. When this happens, we are all out of luck! It's kinda like walking smack into a riot!

Ah, totally forgot about that building. You'd think I'd remember since it's right next to my Court of Coin.

Forgetting is one of the effects of being old and...um...now what was I saying?
