i know a lot of people have posted a "whats better,eq1 or 2?" but mine is a little diff. i was def an EQ vet i played for a little over 5 years and i ended up letting my friend have my account towards the end becuz i was getting bored. long story short. the account was ebay'd for like 2 G (which i never saw a penny of lol).

Anyway i started playing WoW and the game was litterally beatable in 2 months, if that. so i quit that also. now ive just recently played the demo for EQ2 which i really liked and amazingly my comp handled it a lot better then i thought with the settings on high graphics. I quit EQ1 around the time of GoD and i see they came out with like another 9 expansions lol. im pretty sure i dont wanna play EQ 1 again becuz it just turned into horrible raid fests and i got sick of that, not to mention i really dont wanna start all over from scratch. so im pretty sure EQ2 is gonna be the last MMO i try.

wut i really wanna know is EQ2 cool lol? do u still get that same feel that ur in a real world. in the demo the fighting seemed a lot diff from EQ1. all the leashed mobs? they dont chase you forever anymore(no more trains tho im guessing?).but thats a demo so can anyone tell me how the combat is and wut the zones r like when u really play? is the game a lot better then the demo . also is EQ2 all instances? cuz i found them to be like the MMO killer. wuts the point of playing online if ur gonna be in a whole zone wit just 5 other ppl? also is lvl 70 the end of grinding? or is there AAxp or sumthing similar?

thank you for responses and sorry if i rambled i've never been a good poster

You will find that the crowd in EQ2 is much more mature than WoW, and a bit friendlier than EQ1.

The fighting mechanics you saw in the demo are the same throughout the game. Depending on what class you pick will determine how you fight.

Leashed mobs are real. Meaning, when you click on one, you will see all the others that are linked and will come running after you. There is also social agro, but not on every mob. Lower level mobs generally don't have too much social agro. Higher level ones do. It works like this:

Any hostile action against a mob will signal it to send a "yelp". If there are any other mobs within range of that yelp, they will also come running. If you body-pull (walk inside it's agro radius), it will not yelp and no others will come running.

No more TRAIN TO ZONE. They will stop chasing you after a not-very long distance, de-agro, and go back to their starting position.

There are many types of zones throughout the lands. The overland zones are large, expansive, and vary from open fields to giant mazes of canyons. Dungeons are dungeons, either caves, stone-built, etc. There are also instanced zones, like the one you found on the beginning island. Those can be solo or group and may have lockout timers. They can also be a cave, dungeon, inside of a building, outdoor area, etc. Most adventuring is done in the overland areas, but there are hundreds more to discover.

For example, I picked up a quest in an overland zone that directed me to head to a mound of dirt and kill 15 mobs within that instanced tunnel. That mound of dirt only appears when someone has the solo quest. As you venture around, you will see many others adventuring freely in the open lands.

If you purchase the Kingdom of Sky Expansion retail version, it also comes with the basic EQ2 game. That enables AA points that you begin earning at level 20. At level 70, all normal exp is directed to AA gain.

You are not a bad poster, you just don't take the time to spell.
