Hi all,

I just renewed my account to try out EQ2 again when I got'a thinkin'...last time I was playing, I was harvesting materials all over the place only find my inventory was overflowing very quickly! Not to mention loot from mobs as well was adding to the clutter. I found it unclear and confused as hell as to what to do with all of it.

Is there an easy way of telling if the loot is valuable or not, or would one require knowledge of the game items to tell the difference?

Is it a bad idea to sell to a vendor, should you always sell to other players via the NPC(sorry forget the name) instead?

Smiley: confused

with the new broker system its actually pretty easy to figure what should sell to where. First get yourself a corkboard and some decent sized boxes to hold your wares in your house. If you have the cash, I suggest getting a salesman crate.

Put everything you loot into there when you're done. Now granted, there is obviously some things that are vendor trash, but if you dnt know what it is, this will teach you fast without mistakenly selling something cheap that you could get more for on the broker.

Under the tab Sell, you will see the name of your items, a yes or No, and then a price. That price is what you would get if you sold it to a vendor. Highlight each item, click search broker, and see what the cheapest one on the market is going for. If its higher than the vendor prices, sell your item on the broker. If its lower than the vendor price, remove said item from your broker box. You can tell this easily too by going back to your sale tab and changing the price of an item. If you pick PUT UP FOR SALE and the Yes turns yellow, you will get more from a broker sale than a vendor. If the YES turns red, remove it and sell to vendor. Once you've done this with all your items go to the vendor and sell what you have left in your bags.

Keep in mind to recheck your items once a day and see if the market has fluxuated. Sometimes I find I remove items after a few days because the market floods with the same item and I could get more from a vendor by then.

The stacking limit on harvested raw materials was raised from 20 to 50 a while back and collection items stack now; which helps a lot with inventory management.

If you find something labeled "Legendary" or "Fabled" chances are it's worth a lot on the broker. Some drops are called "curiosity treasures" or similar. They're worth more than the standard drop, but they're strictly vendor fodder, as they have no other use.

Other than that you just need to check the broker on gear, spell and book drops (as opposed to meat, skins, teeth, etc. - those are always vendor junk - with the exception of Lore and Legend items, which are marked as being used to "learn more about" the MoB that dropped it.) Some are worth more than others, a few are keenly sought after, and prices fluctuate all the time. Don't just vendor anything unfamiliar without checking the broker as DSD spelled out.

You'll become familair with what's valuable and what isn't. Gear with no stats is junk. Anything dropped or quested in DoF outside raids is junk...

And if they have sales containers up (so there's no broker fee) you might want to buy the item from the generous noob and vendor it yourself for some easy coin.
