Hey, I just got the trial(EQII: Trial of the Isle), the updates haven't finished yet, but I've been researching the different classes online, and have come to the conclusion that I want to be a mage. I'm having trouble deciding between a few jobs though, I've been looking into Coercer and Illusionist. They seem interesting to me, far from what you can normally play on... Say... My game: FFXI...

I didn't play FFXI long so I don't know about mages there. I do have a 60 mage in WoW and so far in EQ2 have my Illusionist up to 15L. And Illusionist is the only class I've tried in EQ2 so far. They are similar to Enchanters in EQ. They mez and Int buff the party. They have a pet that looks exactly like you do and casts the same spells and has the same health. So far a fun class and easy to solo 3 or 4 mobs your level. I do wish the pet looked cooler.
