You are in an group, doing quite well when a person accidently clicks entrance to an instance thus locking you out for 'x' amount of time.

I ask mainly because I was the person that accidently clicked the button. We had finished Palace of the Awakened and were hitting up Halls of Fate. We cleared HoF with style and ported out when I accidently ported us into Vymenns layer. Luckily it only has a 12 hour reset timer when failed but the Main Tank had an absolute hissy fit. I'm talking swearing in caps, screaming then leaving the group and logging out hissy fit of tremendous proportions.

On my part I really tried to apologize and just suck it up and take the abuse since I was the one that flubbed (not like harsh words over the internet are gonna make me feel bad) however it got to the point where I truly honestly was glad it happened and I don't feel bad about it at all now.

So what would you do, if you got locked out or if you locked someone out?

I would be initially a bit upset, but not so much so that it would cause me to go "all caps". I would furrow my brow, think on what to do next, and say something like, "Who's up for SoS?" It has happened to me where we hit a lockout, and folks usually just sigh, and go look for other things to do.

For someone to flip upside down like that tank did tells a lot about his 1) maturity, c) his anger management ability, and secondly, his ability to shrug it off.

I don't know anything about that tank, but a display like that would put him on my List Of People To Not Group With. Which by the way, is right next to my List of People That Owe Me Money.

Personally...who cares? It's not 12 in game hours. It's 12 real time hours that keep moving even when you are not logged in. Go do your thing, log out, get some sleep and it will be there in the morning for you. No big deal. You were just grouped with one helluva whiner. People like that deserve what they get. Good for you!

I think he was pissed because he was planning on raiding Lord Vymenn with his guild that evening. Of course we had already run two instances and he was looking for a reason to leave and already shown he wasnt all that mature.

In the end we figured he wasnt actually raiding but just wanted to leave and pulled a hissy fit.

I really do hope he was going to raid, serves him right for acting like that.

First and foremost, IT'S A GAME! Lets look at things in perspective shall we...

OK, so he didn't get to play a game in a location of his choosing for an entire half a day... he needs to get over it, let it go, move on, and if after taking a deep breath and counting to ten, it's still that important to him, he seriously needs to consider therapy.

Now all that being said, Bodhi, you need to be drawn and quartered... after all, it is all about the tank and you managed to **** in his Cheerios pretty good! :)

that wasnt someone from our guild?

If I got locked out and I was planning on raiding that night, Id just point the finger at you or our little halfling *** ( hehehe ) but I wouldnt be pissed too much. Besides, the guild griefing you in a joking manner would more than make up for it. If it was a nonguildie, meh, I may be slightly annoyed but then figure it was a blessing in disguise and I would get to go to bed early.

If I was the one who did it, I would probably handle it the same way you did. Apologize up and down, or I would blame my 4 yr old for running over and mashing the keyboard before I could stop him ( yeah... thats what happened!) Then Id let the guy vent and laugh about it in guild

LOL nice left handed compliment there! I was going to say, none of our guildies would ever act that way and if they had it wouldnt be tolerated. Just chalk it up to a dumb thing done that someone went way overboard. Unfortunately some asshats forget that it is a game.

Now, about those comments you were making while I was away on vacation.....

I'ld be annoyed for a bit though, especially if I had planned to do a raid there later in the day.

But it is not worth throwing a hissy fit over, not even close.

I guess that's why they make alts.If my character ever got locked out and I still wanted to play EQ2,I'd switch to an alt and play that one for the time being.
