Ok I'm still pretty new to this game. I noticed that you can upgrade your skills for different ranks. I'm level 16 and just not realized this. My question is how early should you start doing this? Should you do it to all abilities or just the main ones you use? Thanks for the help.

Best to get Combat Arts up to Adept 1 if possible from Auction House. Don't worry about going higher than adept one at your level.
If you are low on money make to have bags in sell slots and be selling everything you can.
