hey there folks
where to begin. ive been playing MMOs for a long time. i started with eqoa fer teh ps2, then made my way to ffxi where i stayed for a long time. recently ive been doing the whole mmo jump thing... you know... DDO, AA, CoH/V. then i got the station box (eq,eq2,matrix,planetside,swg). and picking up eq2 right away made me feel like home. i miss the old days, so i think im gonna make eq2 my new game. i only have one small problem. see what made me enjoy eqoa and ffxi so much was the poeple in my guild/ls. in fact the whole reason i play mmos is for the human interaction element.

with that being said, i am looking for an active server, and a friendly, active guild to join. good/evil doesnt matter to me at this point. i try to be active (i get on about 4 nights a week) and i would love some new peeps to rock with. im no newb to mmos or even the eq basics.... and the only things i really dont know are locations of things, good quests/camps. in other words i'm new, not a newb ~.o i generally play nights like 9 or 10 till 5am in the eastern timezone. sometimes im able to get on days when i have days off (if my girl lets me =p).

so give me a shoutout, tell me why i should join your server/guild, and help me get back into mmos

taint

on a side note i tend to make many characters and they are all usually around the same lvl... so if your looking for a certain class your lacking im sure i an fill it =p

I am going to go ahead and plug some guilds for you:

Server: Lucan DLere

Rebels of the Sacred Heart - Very receptive to new players and a classy group of people. Their leader knows the in's and out's of many a quest and is always available to mentor for xp or just for fun. This is the guild I was in for quite some time and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Panzzer (theDakster on the boards) will be able to offer the invite.

Server: Najena

Foundation - This is where you will find the majority of people from these boards. Excellent leadership. It is a nice family guild. Many high levels and many alts. Always ready to help and extremely friendly. Chances are if you have a question on the boards it is being answered by someone in Foundation. Kindle in-game or TutanBriarPaw on the boards.

Server: Nektulos

Not sure of the guild name or setup. Ask Lydiaele, a very respected member on these boards.

Server: Blackburrow

Bane (I believe) - Mostly high levels with a sprinkling of alts. Extremely knowledgable individuals (including DSD and Bhodisattva on the boards). I do believe they have a level restriction, but I am not sure what it is. They should be posting soon. Smiley: grin

Other than the choices above, do your research on the official forums. Guilds come in all different shapes and sizes. I went through 3 before I finally found a fit. Above all else, enjoy your time in Norrath.

For the guild Bane on Blackburrow, at this point you now need ot be lvl 70 in order to join and then you go therough a recruitment phase to ensure you and the rest of the guild members get along. Also you need to know your stuff. Its not an allakhazam guild, FYI. It's an amazing guild though for casual raiding of high end stuff. They know what they are doing and there is *NO* drama in the guild... ever! People get along and work as a team. Thats the biggest focal point of the guild. Many couples also play together.

If you or anyone ever decides to check out Bane on Blackburrow, let me know and I can send you to their website, where you can read up on what they stand for, their regulations, and where to apply.Keep in mind that while I would love for everyone who was seriously into the game to join, you have to make it on your own with them. I have no pull. So you have to make yourself known to them and start getting to know them. We have a channel set up in game so non members can chat and get to know regulars.

Bane allowed me in at lvl 30.

Shortly there after they closed their recruiting process and shut themselves off from potential suitors. I am convinced that this is because they do not wish to share my awesomeness with others but rather horde it all unto themselves. While it is petty and greedy of them I can hardly fault them. I am pretty frickin' sweet.

The guild I am in on Blackburrow, Pain Clinic, is really quite a wonderful "family"/casual guild and one which is very much desirous of finding new members who are into helpful/casual-oriented play. They're not a raiding guild and never will be. Ever. Ever. They're quite adamant about that and make it very clear from the outset that that's not what they're about. They're simply a bunch of people who want to be able to call upon each other when someone needs help or just wants to hang out and do something fun.

I tend to really hate PUGs and will avoid them like the plague whenever I can, so without this guild, I would never have seen the inside of Runnyeye or Rivervale. They're perfectly willing, if they have a group going, to make room for someone who is almost/just-barely high enough for that zone to get them some good xp. The leader and one of the other members last week mentored down to help me complete a few quests just because, in their words, "you're the kind of member we really want to keep around." We fling unneeded tradeskill products at each other all the time, make spells/armor/gear for each other--the list goes on. One member used two of his own feysteel clusters to make me some new weapons even though feysteel products sell for a mint on the broker.

They're nice people, if you're looking for a very casual, friendly group that won't be very aggressive about doing hard-core stuff but will be perfectly willing to help you out whenever you need it. The one drawback we have right now is that we don't have enough people sometimes to be able to pull together a group when someone needs one. It's not unusual for only 2-4 people to be online at a time. Also, we don't have a lot of low-level members at the moment aside from alts--most are between lvls 30-60. So if you ever request a group, will probably need to be mentored.

I haven't had a problem with a pug in EQ2. Well I have had a handful of bad experiences out of dozens. Not like WoW where everytime it was like pulling teeth.

In fact I have found the whole PUG experience in EQ2 to be a blast. There has been a steady group of people from lvl 20-60 who have grouped on and off together. You might not see them for 10 levels and then run into them again. It is nice to have that sense of community outside the guild. Something I really missed in WoW.

We are based in Qeynos, but we have many characters that are evil. Recently in fact, one of our Freeport Shadowknight's snuck into South Qeynos and into the guild house, gingerly slipping past the ^^^ guards.

Good news is that the guild bank is available from both sides of the fence, making the vaults accessable to everyone. We are an equal opportunity guild. :)

Geez. I even put my guild first and he went right to yours, Tut. You payoff the admins so that peoples' browsers only see the words Foundation and Najena, don't you? Bastage.

I'll give you that. I said "was" because I stopped playing the game a while ago. For all intents and purposes, I am still part of the guild. Plus, Tut knows he is pure evil.

Drat. Too late to save another youngling from the Dark Side.

Anyway, my guild is Order of the White Rose. They have a Level 30 requirement except for alts. We're a family guild just getting into raiding with some allies.

I tried Lyd. Sorry.

I would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for that mangy Tut and those pesky Foundation members! A plague on all your houses!
