Specialize against Knolls or Orcs?Follow

#1 Jul 25 2006 at 2:04 PM Rating: Decent
I have a Berserker Dwarf level 12 so far. When I leveled it asked me to choose if I want to have bonuses vs Knolls or vs Orcs. Which should I choose? I would like to choose orcs but are there orcs even on the continent of Antonica? Is it likely that I will ever fight a large number of Orcs?

Antonica is covered with Gnolls so you'd be better off taking that.

If you choose Orcs you won't meet them until you get to Zek when you're 30+ and by then it doesn't really make all that much difference.

There are several things to consider:
Antonica has Gnolls, but you'll outgrow that zone at level 20.

Splitpaw Saga (adventure pack) has Gnolls, and is available levels 20-50.

Zek has Orcs, they are tough and you'll spend much time there, around level 30.

Sinking Sands in Desert of Flames (expansion pack) has Orcs, around level 48.

Sinking Sands also has Gnolls in a huge dungeon, Living Tombs, around level 52.

There is no one that will be the best, both are very useful. If I were to pick again, I'd go with Gnolls since Splitpaw has content available for much longer.

But then if you don't get that adventure pack, that arguement goes out the window... :)

Honestly for Tank's it ain't no big thing.

Some of the casters have some cool effects that reach far beyond just pure Damage, and into quite strong debuffs, slows, silences, ect.

For the Fighter class, though, you're stuck imbueing yourself with a proc. It's handy, but nothing special...

BTW Those Masteries get stronger as your character does... so they shouldnt be considered "useless" ever. One nice thing about Fighter Masteries is that they are very very low mana. So I mean why not toss em in every once in a while. =)
