New to EQ2. Which priest class?Follow

#1 Jul 21 2006 at 12:41 PM Rating: Decent
Hello everyone, I finally decided to get EverQuest 2 so I ordered the Kingdom of the Sky box and I should get it monday/tuesday. Now I have a really hard time deciding which class I should play. I played WoW for 1.5 years mostly as a Warlock nuking the **** out of things, which got boring eventually and now I want to play something different.

I have mainly been looking at the druid classes Warden and Fury and I would appreciate it if someone could either give links to sites with information or write their own thoughts and experiences here. I plan to play on a PvP server and group as much as possible. What I've found so far is that one of these are better at roots/snaring and I read somewhere here that Furys have nice group heals, is it the same for Wardens?

If you want to recommend another class or priest please do so, I havent decided anything yet. I'm up for a challenge as long as its rewarding in the end.

Thanks

Both druids have great heal lines - both have an extensive selection of solo and group heals. Both can snare and root and both have decent DPS (for a priest).

The difference between them is that wardens are defensive druids while furys are offensive druids. This is not to say that wardens can't nuke or that furys can't heal... simply that each of them leans a little bit in one direction or the other.

I have no interest in PvP so I can't help you there but either druid should do well in that sandbox!

I have played a Fury in one form or another for a long time. Healing-wise, they are meant as a "burst" healer, which means they generally have smaller heals, but they can cast them faster than any other healer. Furies can react to huge damage spikes better than other healers.

They do, in fact, have pretty nice nukes ... especially Area Effect stuff. At the higher levels, you'll have 1 group-wide AE, 1 PBAE fire dot, and 1 other PBAE lightning dot (which also happens to stun you while you cast it, but can do huge damage). What this all means is that you'll likely pull a crapload of aggro and die often when grouping ;)

Buff-wise, it's almost all offensive stuff. The Fae Flames line is great for melee groups and the Agitate line is an awesome single-target buff.

gampsalcon, you replied to a 4-month old post. Holy necro-post!

EDIT: Forogt to add, why is your signature a link to a gold-selling site?
