Some guild members were going to do the quest to learn how to speak to Dragons. So I decided to tag along. We gathered on the dock in Lavastorm. Myself, a spoony bard, a shadowknight and our Level 70 Swashbuckler guild leader.

From there we ran the gauntlet of the Temple of Ro. Defeating Vyr'drais the Vicious and rescuing the Sage of Ages. The Sage of course thought that Lord Nagafen put Vyr up to it and sends us along further to investigate. We venture into the Fiery Mountain that is the Eye of Ro. Once inside the volcano we begin to descend, boy do we descend. For the next 90 minutes we stealth our way deeper into the mountain. Thyr giants and Elementals everywhere. Finally we reached an opening.

This is probably where I should mention that I am a complete chicken sh'it when it comes to heights. I mention this because the opening lead to the hollowed out heart of the mountain. Nothing but thin twisting, see through platforms where a minor mistake will leave you plunging to your death into a lake of fire underneath, death that leads to you having to start over again from the very beginning.

I was actually feeling vertigo from a video game.

Well after going through what seemed an endless labrynth of bridges we ended up in Lord Naggies lair greeted by his Major Dormo Inferinus.

And then Nagafen himself in all his lvl 100 Epic x 4 glory

Naggy 2

I got the quest and have some various parts to complete, can't say I am looking forward to making the trip down to his lair again, I get nauseous even thinking about it.

Better get used to it Bodhi, you have to go in there quite a few times for that quest series Smiley: wink

/nod and many other quests too. You know the relic armor I got that was really sweet from raiding? I had to go down there and have one of the fire giants spcialize it for me each and every time.

But gratz on getting that quest part done! Its well worth it and IMO, a lot of fun to see Naggy. Wait till you meet his lady friend, Vox

Bhodi Bhodi Bhodi... For shame, using a new UI mod other then profit! Most of the bugs he could fix were fixed.

Anyways, that aside, grats on starting that. I love language quests, so even though it is in lavastorm (HATE that place... even though it looks awesome) i'm looking forward to that quest.

Nice screenshots, and ofcourse well done Bodhi!

btw: I have to agree with the heights thing, there are some places in this game that can be disadvantageous for people with vertigo.

LS is a remnant of old EQ2.

If you have a group lvl 40-50 you can knock out the quests and access the content. Next to nothing worth soloing though. Also since most lvl 40 groups are either in Rivervale or Permafrost, LS doesn't see much action.

They should re-tool the zone like they did with Silithus in WoW.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head. I LOVE the way it looks... but once you go past the tunnel you run smack dab into almost nothing but heroic mobs. Not that I don't mind group places like that, but like Bhodi said... most 40 groups I see are Perma or Rivervale. I don't think i've ever seen advertisment for a LS group, and normally when I go there it is pretty dead.

The temple of Soluseks or whatever the hell it's called is a great place to level with a group. However its at least a 5 minute run out there stealthed. If you don't have stealth well its a whole heck of a lot longer. No easy way to access it.

Soluseks Eye is chalk full of lvl 48 ^^^ mobs and would be a great place for early to mid 40's to grind in. Even has a teleport out to it from the LS docks. Once again you have to have made the run out first in order to use teleport. Which is probably a 10-15 run (or longer) which most people will never make.

Definitely needs a re-tool to make it more desirable for lvl 40-50 players to use. It would be neat if it kept that group content just made it more accessable.

Just get a high level conj to run (or port) up there and then summon you to him. BAM - instant access!

well if youre going there for Naggy or SE its only one time you have to make that run. There is a portal in the beginning of the zone and one right next to the ent of SE. All you have to do is stand on it to activate it. Once you have both sides open you port from the ent to the ent of SE.

Same inside SE. There is a portal near the ent, and one in the music room, about halfway through the zone. Stand on each and from then on you only have to run through the vertigo inspiring part. From the ent of LS to Naggy after the portals are open is no more than 5-6 minute run

While I was still playing the game I never did make it to Naggy. One day we was realyl close but a person had to leave in the group, and of course 2 others followed and we disband.

I don't care much for lavastorm either. Just too many heroic KOS mobs to make it worthwhile to hunt. Hard to get a group going in Solesk eye since so view people have the portal open.

Is nagafin attackable? Just curious how hard a lvl 100 epic X4 would hit?

Just to give you an idea... there is a level 75 epic 4 mob who has only been beaten on like 3 or 4 servers... drops a mythical lore item the first time (and first time only) he is killed, so you know the hardcore guilds are all going after him and trying to kill him. So, i'd immagine a 100 epic 4 would probably 1-shot anyone Smiley: lol

Any mob that cons greater then Yellow (i.e. orange or red) cuts through the tanks armor like paper. I have a 55 Pally and every once in awhile I forget that and get the smack-down. I last about 4 seconds versus triple up heriocs.
