I was just thinking, again, about how thrilled I am that one of my sons and his fiancee have begun to play EQ II with me. Last Monday we had a wonderful time playing together. The gig is that every Monday night they come to my place to play. We order Chinese or pizza depending on our mood and cash flow. Meg brings her computer (that I built for her at Christmas) and uses my monitor, mouse and keyboard. My son plays on my secondary computer, which is now my MacBook Pro. Last year I had a desk built that would hold 3 computer side-by-side so we could play together. It's a really awesome set-up.

I have been playing EQ II for about a 1 1/2 years now but always felt I was missing out. When I started playing EQ Live my co-workers played and I was an advisor to a gaming club at the college I work at. We had monthly lock-ins which were basically all night LAN parties that were hosted on campus. In the beginning most everyone played EQ Live. I learned a lot of really neat stuff, short-cuts, macros and such from other players. It also helped me out to see how other players would set up their UI.

This last Monday my son, who has only been playing for about a month, taught me something that was so simple but really awesome. I, being only a few days shy of being a half century old and being realatively new to gaming (only 6-7 years), need to be taught and shown new tricks. This all lead me to the conclusion that I would like to know how other people set up their UI.

Do you put your text boxes on the bottom or on the side? Do you use 3 or more hot key bars and where do you place them? What UI do you use? Show me your stuff! Take a screen shot and share it with all of us. Then if you wouldn't mind could someone explain clearly how you would attach a screen shot?

Thanks, Zoo

Only way to attach screens in alla is to just link to them if that is what you meant Smiley: lol

Anyways, I use Profit UI Reborn with a few tweaks/missing components (didn't like a couple things Smiley: sly) so it looks more like this. That was the 2.5.5 or something version, and it is up to 2.6 now so a couple things look slightly different (besides the bars being fuller lol) so i'll take a more up to date screen in a little, but that is basically how it looks.

edit because Smiley: lol does not close a link (NO clue how that happened...)

I, too, currently use Profit UI 2.6. It's a very nice UI, and I have it slightly modified as well to more fit my taste. I don't have a SS available right now, but I'll take one tonight and post it up. Basically the same, only smaller Hotbars (5 sets stacked centered at bottom) and have modified my chat windows to have one on each bottom corner (left and right) next to the Hotbars.

I'm also working on my own full UI setup...I come from WoW and loved customizing my UI there, so I'm delving into the EQII UI and creating a completely custom one...it's quite a ways out before it's done though. I have to relearn and break my WoW .lua and .xml habits through the process, but it should be nice once I finish it.

A better view of my ui taken as I was re-decorating my house. I went a little over with the chat log box though (don't know why I did but hey everyone does lol) so you'll have to take my word I only have 3 tabs total Smiley: lol

I've always used the default button, but SK has had a UI Ive admire for awhile and I decided to check it out. It's the Thor one, and I went all slim version. Ill get a SS today.

Hah... Yyyyyeah...

Ok so I cannot stand not having everything (including my Clickable Items) on hand to use so pretty much my UI is crazy huge.

Surprisingly, though, its very organized for me (since it's basically been building on itself.)

Heres a SS of my UI's Skeleton just to give you an idea.

Screenshot of my UI.

It looks like overkill, but on my 44 Pally you'd be surprised. Basically its all layed out so that the buttons I'm actually clicking alot are on the Main three, then ones for Travel are on the left, buffs, misc, clickables, and my Mastery spells are all up on the top.

Its alot, but it works for me =D

Well it has taken me a while to respond with my own UI but here it is. I really like using Thor. I know it has had some recent trouble with one of the updates but all that has been corrected. I do miss the tabs in the quest journal that listed all the different types of quests like heritage, legend & lore, etc. though.

I posted my screen shots on my webpage.

That Thor thing seems cool. Only thing I kinda don't like is how much space the EXP bars (all 4 of em) take up. Cool stuff tho, gives me some ideas~
