I was going to cancel my everquest II account tonight, before I would get billed tommorrow for it. I attempted to cancel, and was asked the anwser to my secret question (which I forgot). Does anyone know a way, I can retrieve the anwser or, cancel my account? This is frustrating, and it makes me extremely angry, that they would require something like that, instead, of hmm.. say your damn User/PW???!! Grrrr.

Im not really cancelling because I dont like the game, rather I've accomplished all I wanted to do in the game right now. I've grown bored of it, and dont want to keep paying for it! I'll probably end up having to pay for the month of july now though, which is kinda frustrating, considering how you have to cancel a account in EQ2. It makes no sense to me at all, that they require a secret question?! No other game ive played has done that, all the others required was a username and PW, then bam, subscription cancelled.

Just an FYI. If you do cancel by cancelling your credit card your account will be banned. If your account is banned for any reason at any time you lose access to buy or sell on the Station Exchange permanently with no recourse to fix it. Even if you get your account unbanned you will still not be able to use the SE.

I'd be more worried about the fact I couldn't ever get any of my chars back then whether I can pay a few eztra bucks for an easier game (since that is in a sense what all RMT and the Station Exchange servers boil down to)

As for the OP, try going into your account normally and seeing if there is an option to change your secret question thingy. Either that or call up CS/post in the official forums under tech support or something. That DOES seem very odd to require it though. Maybe something to do with friends pulling pranks and cancelling accounts or something? Of course, even then, most of the "secret" questions would be pretty common knowledge answers to friends. "Mother's Maiden name" "Where you were born" "First school" "High School Graduated from" ect... I know that of almost every one of my friends. (RL of course)

I just canceled my accounts. Only because I am dropping the Station Player and going only with EQ II. I can't see continuing to pay for EQ Live since I no longer play it all now. I enjoyed taking the survey, twice. I think any exit survey shows that a company does care and does want to make things better when at all possible.

For the OP, I would suggest calling them or going through the Knowledge Base and contacting someone through live help. They should be able to help you cancel.
