1. You get AA's by killing certain named mobs, discovering certain areas, or looting certain items. There is not a definate list of what those are as they are still being discovereed. Generally, you'll get AA exp as you do and discover things, and eventually get enough AA exp to get a AA level.

2. Right click any banker and select Guild Bank. You'll have 4 vaults to store things in. Higher level guilds get more space. You can set permissions on those vaults for your members. Typically higher number vaults can be set for higher level players - up to each guild.

You gain guild exp by completeing writs, Heritage Quests, and "reverse-writ" items.

Writs, also called City Tasks in your quest log, are given by NPC's in your area. They are tasks go "Go out and kill XX critters." Doing so will award status with that NPC's guild and guild exp. Get enough faction status with that guild and their merchants will unlock items for sale.

They are grouped in levels of 5, so every 5 levels you are, you'll need to seek out a new set of writs that get harder. It typically matches your tier anyway, but some writs will require a group.

When you are at the NPC, you are given a list of writs to choose from. If not, you can always accept, then delete the writ - hail the NPC again until you get the writ you want.

You can get only 1 writ per NPC, up to a total of 4 writs (one from each). The smart writ hunter will get writs that either task to kill the same mob, or task to kill mobs in the same area/zone.

Here are the Writ NPC's for Qeynos:
Fighter Guild - North Qeynos at Castle steps
Priest - North Qeynos at Priest Pond
Mage - South Qeynos at Mage Tower
Scout - Eldarr Grove at the Eldarr Tree

Heritage Quests are given by many different NPC's or quest starters.

Reverse writ items are looted coins, statues, amulets from sentient creatures and will say something like, "A powerful guild of fighters will want this." Turn these items into the same NPC where you get your writs for some marginal guild exp. Selling these to a normal merchant will get you a few silver more, but no guild exp.

3. No. You will regen at the same rate no matter your location or position. However, food and drink will significantly increase that rate. So always support your local Provisioner and keep a full stock of chow! Just remember to equip the chow and select to consume it (auto or manual).

EDIT: Added more details about the writs.

First you have to have the 2nd expansion (Kingdom of Sky) installed and enabled. Once that is true, you should see your first bit of AA XP and your first AA point arrive as soon as you do something AA XP "worthy". Remember that you will not EVER get AA XP in T1 or T2 (it's for 20 somethings and older) so you will have to be in T-Steppes or Nek Forest in order for anything to happen. You will automatically receive your first point with the very first AA XP you get so you should know right away if it's working.

Assuming you are in a guild, go to any bank, right click on the banker and choose guild bank from the options. The guild bank will open and you will have access to as few or as many of the four pages as your guild leaders have granted to you.

Short answer, no! With decent food and drink you should regain health and power so quickly that this is never an issue. And, in EQ2 you don't get XP for resting...

FOr the record... I think when he said "rest exp" he was talking about the vitality thingy. Not getting HP/Power back. I'm not too sure how the system works myself, so i'm not the best to answer that. However I know you can earn it just by sitting around wherever. I earned a nice chunk when I went afk one time in the field.

Other then that I can't think of anything to add to whats been said.

Once again thanks for the fast reply, and yes I ment, the "rest exp". The stuff that lets you earn double exp, is it gained faster in certain places?

I am now in TS and gaining AA's, TY.

A quick follow-up ?

Where can i find the level 20, quest's for our armour set? And are the pieces even worth it? I am a 22 ranger 9half-elf) good sided.

TY

Not sure where all the armor quest NPCs are, but do a search for "Armor quest" on the offical forums in the quest section and you should find em, that is how I found mine. As for if they are worth it, imo yes. I still use some at 40 (I REALLY need to look into replacing them though...) because the stats are very nice. Some crafted things ("mastercrafted" especially) can be better, but the price on those are pretty high most time. For it's "tier" of 20ish-30ish it is probably some of the best you can get imo. Especially since it is free.

As for achievement Xp, you get that for every blue or better quest (green quests are no longer considered an achievement). Every exploration from zones higher than Antonica and Commonlands count, ofcourse the rule of being very low lvl in a very high lvl zone gets more achievement xp is quite fun. For instance checking out Tenebrous Tangle or the other areas of the KoS expansion got me 5% for every discovery at a level of mid-40's, it goes fast that way.
Unfortunately, now I've explored just about every zone, only dungeons are left.

Rare loot will get you axp, apart from a lot of money too, but only the first time you get that item. (Amber item in Zek for instance) There's no way to rush these finds, you'll get them after a while.

Collections higher than lvl 20 will get you axp. And again, completing a collection before the level of that collection yields great axp (and normal xp too ofcourse), at times good armour and such too. (not the bone collections though, those just get you a petrified eye you can use to shapechange, but the shards collections at lvl 34 is a very good idea for instance)

And then there's the named mobs. Every named mob will give axp when it is higher than lvl 20 and is still blue or better. Nevertheless, I've killed green named ones that still gave axp, but then others didn't; I believe that the truly special named will give you axp (like Bloodtalon for instance) but the more regular ones won't.

As always, you can only get axp once for doing things, for killing things or for finding things.

You regain your rest xp (or vitality) the same where ever you are; it does not matter what you eat or drink or where you rest, the only thing that matters is how long you are logged out. For every couple of hours, you will regain vitality. I've never been able to use it all in one sitting myself, but I do play solo most of the time, I can imagine that some people will use it all in one sitting. You regain it pretty fast but if it is at zero, it will take some time to get it all back again.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were talking about vitality.

Vit returns at a fixed rate whether you are playing that character or not, logged into your account or not, thinking about EQ2 or not! I can't remember the exact rate of return, but I think it works out to 0-100% in about four days. Maybe 1 percent per hour?

I have burned my crafting vit down to the ground several times and I was able to craft again in a couple days, at full power in under a week. I have even burned my adv vit all the way to the ground, but only once or twice.

While we're on the subject, I have noticed an interesting thing about vit... it seems to me that your level of vit drops quicker when you are crafting white or above recipes or when you are killing white or above mobs. What that tells me is that the percentage of vit used scales to the encounter and the more you reach the faster it is used up. Maybe this is obvious or maybe it is listed somewhere as known intel but I remember it being a revelation when I first noticed it...

Vit rate regen is 0,5% / hour, which means it takes roughly 1 week + to get from 0% vit to 100%. However there are issues regarding vit (there has been some since vit was implented) like vit setting itself at 99% and never going down after you level (happened to me, i breezed from 65 to 70 in 4 days without even trying). But what OBD said is still true, the amount of vit you lose is proportional to the con of the encounter/recipe. Fighting orange mobs will burn your vit much quicker than green ones. It is directly linked to the xp you gain.

I don't know about that... I seem to get it much quicker, and have even gained like a sudden 10% or so just from going afk for a little and not fighting. Came back like 20min later and suddenly I noticed my vit go up from like 0 to 10 or something. I've also gained vit from just running around in the city before doing my normal tasks like selling trash, putting things on broker, ect. I don't think I was in the city for maybe more then 30min and I remember getting some noticable amount of vit (aka not a .5 or so, more like a couple %) since I have a mod that shows my vit in yellow numbers I can keep track of it fairly easily when it comes to whole numbers, but I don't may much attention to the decimals. Maybe some of those "bugs" with vit?

I logged off of eq2 about maybe 1.5 hours ago, and will probably log back on in about 8 or so... I had 20% when I logged off. So, if the regen rate is right I should have about 25% when I log in. From prior experiance a good night of being logged off will net me like 20ish % or so. I'll keep an eye on it more closely over these next couple of days and post here what happens.

Yea about Vitality, all I know is that I've always got a full levels worth of it.

However, that's not very suprising since I play every other day and I'm hardly a power gamer.

I've currently got a little "experiment" running with vit. I took a screen just a split second before I logged off last night, and am going to take one as soon as I can when I log in a little bit later today. My UI mod has a clock that shows both norrath time and earth time, so it should be pretty easy to determine the gain rate I got while logged off in a city (not that that should matter if what was said was true)

you get x amount of vit every hour on the hour real time. I cant remember the percentage offhand, but watch your xp bar right before the hour changes
