Troubadour LVL 20Follow

#1 Jul 04 2006 at 3:22 PM Rating: Decent
Just hit lvl 20 and was wondering if there is anything I need to do now? Class quest, armor quest, weapon quest, etc?

Having fun so far, but used to WoW and having to go back and train every even lvl, so with getting your new spells automatically, kinda makes me lost as to what I need to do now.

Also, where should I be trying to go or find quests for? I just want to lvl as fast as I can and get to the larger end game raids or even mid sized raids/parties. Only place I have been so far is Stormhold, Stormguard, Storm something when you fly to The Steppes station (man im a newb, i think thats what the flight path is)

Any advice?!?!?

There's nothing you really NEED to do now, the important thing is to have fun with what you do. If you are into grinding through levels, then you'll find the best way to get levels and loot is with a group in a dungeon (like Stormhold). If you have a good group, you could also jump to the next tier and hunt in Thundering Steppes.

A few generic tips:
- Upgrade your spells (songs) to at least Adept I, as you can afford. Don't worry about upgrading to Adept III, as they are expensive and you will quickly outgrow them.
- Upgrade your armor as you can afford.
- Use dual wield weapons. Leafblades are nice.
- Check the broker for spell, armor, and weapon upgrades.
- When fighting, use your stun combat art to temporarily immobilize the mob, then leap behind it for a rear-attack.
- Download the in-game map system here.

My blasted at-work firewalls prevent me from checking, but do a search at ogaming.com for the Troubador Armor Quest. It will give the the NPC to get with to start that series of quests.

For some dangerous fun, you could run through Thundering Steppes and hit the various discovery-exp locations.

Thanks for the help.. greatly appreciated.

How come this part of Allakhazam doesnt have quests and stuff like the WoW portion? Used the WoW one religiously, very helpful.. the wowreader was kinda of nifty as well.

Just curious

Simple math, actually. Possibly hundreds or even thousands of paying WoW subscribers from the huge WoW playerbase, versus the smaller EQ2 community with the smaller pool of paying Alla subscribers.

Alla put the admin-manpower at WoW where the bulk of income was. Smart business move - bad for EQ2 players. That left the EQ2 side to stagnate and go weeks without updates, while WoW was getting almost daily updates.

I tried to spearhead a move for the regular posters here at the forums to submit guides and item info to try to get the EQ2 database updated. That was mildly successful but has since died.

In more recent news, Alla dropped a bombshell when they announced that they will be merging with other game sites, including known gold-selling supporters, ogaming.com. You can read the 1,000+ thread here. Technically, Alla and Ogaming will be in different branches owned by the same parent company. Lots of drama to unfold there.

Alla says they are doing great things to incorporate the strong database at Ogaming and it will be bigger and better than ever. We will wait and see what the end product is.
