I used to think all the hell you took in the Asylum was a bit overrated. Now that I see all the sh*t you spew, I completely understand "we"'s position.

Free griffons are only in 4 (starter) zones in the entire game and aren't all that convenient. My Mount can go anywhere. Absolutely grand!

Congrats Bhodi! That's probably my fave looking horse, too. Your gui display is interesting - what is the big 35 number for? Can you recommend any decent gui displays? I still use the default...

Thats my XP. All I have to do is left click on the number and it toggles between AXP/EXP/Trade XP. Very useful.

I went to eq2interface.com.

Most people either use ThorUI or Profit Reborn. I am using profit reborn. Much easier to use, closer to WoW ergonomically.

I'll cast a vote in favor of THOR. It isn't as snazzy as Bhodi's but it has a lot of nice features and options including an auto-installer and an auto-updater.

Also available at eq2interface.com and while you're there, don't forget to get the EQ2Map mod. The game just isn't the same without it!

And grats on the horse Bhodi. Think my ranger has the same one...

That's a nice horse!

I still need to get one myself, just never got the courage to save up for one (I'ld rather buy lots of shiny collectibles and the occasional weapon). Ah well, if I ever get round to it, I'll finish the carpet quest.

Btw, you have the level for it, why don't you just go for that carpet instead of a slower horse?

Grats on the horse. I'm almost at the point where I can get the t2 mount. I decided to just not even get a t1 since the 2 is just like 1p (ish) more. So kind of a waste of money to buy the t1 imo. Not to mention with my self-speed buff it isn't that much faster.

Don't forget that when you upgrade, there is a trade in value on the horse you already have and since you can't use 2 horses & they're no-trade, you may as well sell back the first. It's not as much as you paid but it is a reasonable buy back amount, (for a used horse).

I guess I was the cheap putz of the group, using SoW totems until I completed the carpet quest around level 50'ish.

True, but i'm still just going to wait probably. I think i'm like maybe 20ish gold away from having the t2 so may as well just wait. I already get a 16% run speed buff anyways Smiley: lol

Grats Bodhi Smiley: smile

The carpet is pretty damn awesome when you first get it but seeing everyone else with one kinda wears the gloss off it after a while.

My favourite horse is the evil one with fiery snout and hooves, guild level 40 I think.

I'm a cheapskate also, never bought a horse, just totemed until I got my carpet Smiley: wink

Thanks, that sounds like a good one to try. I've had EQ2Map for quite some time, heh, never thought to check out the gui stuff before.

Are you referring to a Shadowknight's mount? I've only seen SKs ride that kind of horse, but if there's a guild one like that, too, that's very cool.

The Nightmare horse. It's not a class specific horse, and its a guild level 40 horse. It is very cool mount, one I had... but sold accidentally. Got the status back, but only about half the coin, so I now need to earn the rest of the coin to get it back. Congrats Queen bodhisattva on your mount!

There are two horses that you can get if you are a part of a lvl 40+ guild, have 19pp and 400k SP and that is the Nightmare if you live in Freeport, or Mistrunner if you live in Qeynos

Which would be a lot easier if you had a tradeskill. Smiley: lol Heck, even if you harvest... some of those rare harvests can go for quite a bit and sell fairly quick. Rare Ore especially will sell well and quick since it is a bit rarer then other rares due to less ore nodes and the addition of loam to the 20-40+ teirs. Though those rare loams will sell pretty good too since they are used in app3 spells.

Anyways, does anyone know the exact sell-back on horses?

Funny you should ask... the sellback (on most mounts) as well as original cost and a nice photo of each mount can be found HERE

About 6 months ago, this guy put together what is still the definitive guide to mounts in EQ2. Enjoy!

Thanks, I was wondering if there was something like that. I've been wonderin about how some mounts look and all.

Horses are just a waste of money, I'll take my regular non sow 44% run speed over a horse any day. Yeah for being a bard.

BTW OBD that site is a bit out of date, dirges havent had the level 30 ability to increase run speed since class balancing.
