Newbie needs a UI guideFollow

I'm looking for a UI mod that is safe to work with for a newb. I'm not really liking the standard UI. Are there any settings that help make the game easier to control or anything such as that? Thanks in advance.

Pick up EQ2map UI and peruse the UI compilations, I myself use Profit Reborn UI.

Some specifics would be helpful. What is it about the stock interface that you don't like? And what do you mean by "settings that help make the game easier to control"? What kind of control are you looking for, (missing)?

Personally, I use the THOR complete UI but I have also added the tradeskill mod from Fetish and a couple of other custom pieces. BTW - THOR features an auto install routine and an auto update feature that lets you painlessly keep the UI current.

I just never could get used to thor really... too many buttons up that I never used. So in the end I ended up turning off (and not using) virtually every mod piece through the UI. I also didn't like the defualt placement of elements when you use the settings they included, with the buttons on top and such. It was just a total revrese from what I was used to. So I basically had to go through and place everything by hand... and never could figure out how to get the bars to go on the side like in the included settings. So, I nixed that pretty quickly and just kept like the compass and the window settings since it felt like I wasn't using the mod at all really.

Profit UI Reborn is pretty easy to install though, they include a eq2.ini file and a UI folder, so all you basically have to do is unzip everything into your defualt eq2 folder and then delete (backing up if you want) your old eq2 ui settings as it has setting files for the widely used resolutions from 1024 up I believe.
