Hi,

I'm mew to EQII , in fact new to MMORPG's too. Got my char upto cleric 13, I took a wander outside of Qeynos for the first time intent on doing the quest to gather 10 gnoll ears. Anyway, I stepped off the bridge and suddenly WHAM! this character attacked and killed me. I assumed it was my mistake so revied and carried on ding the quest, as soon as my immunity went, the same char attacked and killed me again. I'm pretty sure that it is a PC not an npc/mob because he said "laughs" after the dirty deed. .

Is it common practice to pounce on newb's ? Should I only stay within the city until I am lvl 20 or so? or do I have to only go outside as part of a guild pack?

Life on a PvP server is just ganktastic. It sucks, but it happens a lot. You can always go do the same to the other side when you get a little higher in level Smiley: sly

If PvP is not for you then I would consider just remaking the character on normal PvE server that way you don't have to deal with it.

Lvl 13 isn't that far along and in the end it will save you a lot of trouble.

I tried PVP in EQ1 and like the OP said, was just a gank fest. Opposing faction would come over and just camp the newbies over and over again. Needless to say I didn't stay on the PVP server for long and went back to my regular characters on the PVE server. I just wanted to see what PVP was all about.

Now, when I was playing WOW, the one thing I did like about that game was the PVP instances. You could enjoy PVE most of the time, and when you wanted take out a little aggression on the opposing faction you could zone into PVP a instance.
