as far as I know, you can play with sat internet but you expect some terrible lag. The problem is that every instruction you send to the servers and every update they send to you has to bounce from one computer, up into space and then from space, back down to another computer on earth. Every spell you cast, every time you swing a blade or target a mob or player or npc... and the double bounce for each and every thing you want to do will kill ya!!!

I've heard conflicting information on this myself. Since we live in the boondocks and no access to DSL we suffer with dialup. We looked at one time into Satelite. I had heard that there are delay issues if you play satelite, usually 1-2 sec delay.

However, recently, I spoke with a fellow guildy who says has friends that play via satelite and don't experience this problem. I haven't seen him recently, but he was going to get me his friends info as far as who he uses. I figure it can't be any worse than dialup since there is a 2-3 sec delay anyway. *shrug*

Another downside is, satelite can be expensive as far as equipment and setup costs go. Anywhere from $500 and higher.

QFT. I don't think it is that some games don't support it (don't hold me too that) but rather just that the games are basically unplayable because of the double bouncing. If you've ever watched anythig with the ISS or Space shuttle and have seen that time delay, immagine the same thing but with data coming from to/from your computer. That extra delay makes the games (this goes for basically ANY online game except for a slow placed strategy game) unplayable.
