I am currently in middle of DL the updates. But i have a few questions while i wait.

PvP: How does this work. Request Duels like in EQOA, Free open PvP like in RF- Online. And are there different server types, PvP/PvE. I just dont want to get ganked/grieved while trying to solo/quest by some HL person with e-***** issues.

Grouping: Main reason i left the game was bc my class was very misunderstood or no1 i grouped with knew how to grp with an illusionist. So im not going back to that headache and thought id give a melee/caster a go. Really liked my Monk in EQOA, but as i read it appears as though Monk in EQ2 is a gimped tank with crappy DPS.

Just got done with a stint on RF-Online and really like the Solo play in it, pots be damned. So i was thinking of going Conjurer or Necromancer. Prolly gonna flip a coin on this decision, lol.

Sorry to ramble on. But PvP, hows this work. And also, looking 4 a server with a good bunch of pple, but not too crowded. I am EST but usually play 11pm-4,5am. And most all day on days off.

Thanks again in Advance 4 the help.

Oh and

-Illusionists are always welcome by groups

- monks while not the premier tank, can tank. Their DPS is very nice so they are welcome in groups that already have main tank.

-PvP servers are available but are world PvP. Which equates to gankfest and constant wariness. Good or bad depending on what you want.

-Duelling is avaible no matter the server type. You send a duel invite then person has choice of accepting or declining it.

- DoF has PvP arenas type situations where you can earn honour but I know diddly squat about them since i am just getting in range to use them (45+)

Actually, you can't duel on PvP servers - presumably because the Fame/Status/Item gain is hardcoded in whenever you kill a player, and clashes with the dueling urles.

If you're JUST starting out then that sounds about right. There have been a LOT of updates since release, and not all made it to the game DvDs/CDs... You can also go through and download extra things like more voice overs and such if you wanted :P
