make sure to check to see if any loot you may have gotten thrpough a nights worth of fighting makes more on the broker. You can usually make quite a bit if you sell those adept 1 spells and stat armor there instead of the vendor.

Also, Level up your harvesting skills, Mining especially. Rare matierals used to make armor, spells, etc. can sell good at the broker. Also, Collection pieces! I never used to Bother with the little question marks on the ground, as I did not know what they were used for, when I first started playing. Some People will pay good gold for some pieces that they may be missing for collection quests!
Collectibles are worth a lot, most of them anyway. If you see an arrow or exclamation mark, collect it. Ofcourse check if you can use it yourself first (collection quests give good xp and rewards at times) but otherwise sell it.
The fastest way to make money starts in Thundering steppes from finding a rare, the ones in Antonica are pretty cheap. You'll get a good amount of money for it.
Get good bags as soon as you can, that allows you to carry more whilst fighting or questing. Get two very good ones to put in your house vault, lots to be found on the broker.
Ofcourse, try to avoid the broker yourself, apart from buying adepts and occasionally armour and weapons. I've spent a couple of pp so far on collectibles, which at times is a waste as most will be found at one point or another.

Selling harvestables is another way to make some money. Even more so when you harvest a rare.
I am always running out of something I harvested in the middle of production and have to pop-up (or down in Freeport) to the broker to buy supplies.
Just remember the last thing you ever want to do is beg. Nobody likes a beggar. Not that you are begging but just thought I would mention it.
