I had to stop playing EQ2 last july or august due to real life committments. I was a lvl 20 Conjurer, I was sure that i had a choice of a nice rock pet that i was using at lvl 20. Seems i have a fire pet now though. I know it was a thing that popped up after i did the final quest and i got to choose a couple choices. I might have had it and done something wrong but i cannot tell, I never saw the choice of the rock pet at lvl 20.

Did they take this out? or am i losing my mind

For Conjurer, you get these pets at these levels:
1 - Tellurian Recruit (Beetle Warrior)
12 - Tellurian Follower (Earthcrawler Warrior)
20 - Igneous Apprentice (Fire Elemental Mage)
24 - Tellurian Soldier (Earth Fighter)
32 - Aery Outrider (Air Scout)
34 - Igneous Adept (Fire Mage)
38 - Tellurian Avenger (Earth Snake Fighter)
46 - Aery Stalker (Air Scout)
48 - Igneous Magi (Fire Elemental Mage)

You always have the previous pets obtained from earlier levels, so use one that is appropriate to the situation:
Earth: Solo'ing hard mobs
Air: Solo'ing medium/easy mobs, and in a "ok" group
Fire: In a group with a good tank and healer

Open your Knowledge Book and you'll see all the spells. Drag and drop what you need to your hotbar for easy use - I have 6 hotbars. :)
