hey everyone. i recently left ffxi after 2+ years and im looking to get back into a MMORPG. my friend who i started playing ffxi with started playing EQ2 and i wanted to start playing again with him. hes a 13-14 templar and i was looking to see what good fighter/templar combos there are. good chance we wont be into raiding or doing much end game stuff right now. just leveling and doing quests while having fun.

i had my eyes on a guardian at first but after reading their dps is the lowest i started looking at monk/bruiser and berserker. i guess im looking for a job that can tank well in a duo with a templar and still do a ton of damage. can anyone help me out?

EDIT* forgot to ask, he picked good. if i wanted to be a bruiser would we be able to find each other in a town easily or would one of us have to travel really far to get to the other? i know good and evil start in different towns but i have no idea how far away they are from each other.

You'll need to be a goodie too, otherwise you'll miss out on all the fun early levels together.

Either Monk or Berserker would work well with a Templar Smiley: smile

You'll find that any class will work well with any healer. I've even been in all Mage groups with no healer and we did great and had a blast.

You may also find that fighters have lower DPS so fights will take longer. You might try a DPS class in the Scout line like Ranger, Assassin, Swashbuckler, or Brigand. Even Troubadors and Dirges can put out some damage plus they have good party buffs.

Either way, both of you will have a great time adventuring and questing.

Regarding good and evil sides, they are pretty far apart. You would need to run through 2 dangerous zones (if you're under level 20) to get from one to the other. Still it is do-able if you just keep running, screaming all the way as things chase you.

You could stay on the "other" side for extended periods, as there are menders and a few merchants for your business. Just watch out for the opposing guards - they don't take kindly to strangers.

What server are you on by the way? If things don't go well for you there, consider Najena. We have a bustling population, guilds of all levels, stable economy, and players in almost every zone.

When you get there, look me up. I can help you get started with directions, advice, upgrades, and coin. Type /who all foundation to see who is on.

See you there!
