Help noob tradeskillerFollow

At the starter island at Freeport a guy gave me a list that tells me where to go at Freeport to join a tradeskill society. I chose the War Hagglers (well i wanted). When i got there the guy gave me a quest do i have to do the quest to join there society or do i have to talk to a different guy. And yes scale yard is where i started which war hagglers are in.
