I'm buying a new computer on which to play EQ II.

Do these specs look like it will play well?

CPU: (939-pin) AMD Athlonâ„¢64 3500+ CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology

MOTHERBOARD: (Sckt939)EVGA nForce4 SLI Chipset SATA RAID Dual PCI-E Mainboard w/GbLAN, USB2.0, &7.1Audio

MEMORY: 2048 MB (512MBx4) PC3200 400MHz Dual Channel DDR MEMORY

VIDEO CARD:NVIDIA Geforce 7600 GS 256MB PCI Express x16 Video Card

VIDEO CARD 2:NVIDIAGeforce 7600 GS 256MB PCI Express x16 Video Card

HARD DRIVE: 250GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 8M Cache 7200RPM Hard Drive

Optical Drive:LG GWA-4161 16X DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW DRIVE DUAL LAYER

Optical Drive 2: 16X DVD ROM
SOUND: HIGH DEFINITION ON-BOARD 7.1 AUDIO

Also...how much of a difference would it make if I upgraded the NVIDIA card to a 512MB PCI Express instead of the 256MB PCI?

That is a very nice rig. Only one point, you list 2 X 256 vid cards listed, which would give you a total of 512 memory across both cards but you also askede about upgrade to a 512 card. Are they offering you a single 512 card as an option?

Either way, 512 of vid ram on a PCI express slot card should rock! Enjoy!

Awesome, thank you for the unput. With the vid cards, the deal is for $18 I can upgrade that to 2 512MB cards...so that would put me at 1024MB across the two cards? I'm just wondering if its worth it to do that or not? Unless its going to make a big difference, than I'll just stick with the 512MB across two cards.

As long as those cards support vertex shading (as described in the specs), you'll do fine.

Those are the specs for the video card...it says vertex shading units 5? I am not very computer savy, but I think those specs mean that its ok for vertex shading.
