Twice, I have been randomly booted to the character select screen. It is as if though, I am entering a new zone. I get the loading screen with the artwork. I am then at the character select screen and have to wait like 10 minutes to get back in. This happend the other day when I was in a exp Group. I then finally got back into the game on my character, and was still in the group, and had gotten exp, as if I had never left?! Has this ever happend to any of you? Just today it happend again just now... I had just barely logged onto my character and was at the broker, when it did it again. Its never done this to me before the other night.. Its very weird... I was wondering if any of you had ever had this happen, or maybe know why?

Judging from your sig you can praise the gods it only happened to you twice in all that gaming time ! lol.

It's a common problem. Im not a computer genius so i couldnt tell you why this happens, but it has happened to me a good 20 times since i started playing.

And BTW, if it happens to you while zoning into an instance with a lockout, you will come back outside but will be considered inside...so you wont get to get in...happened to me and my wife once each, both time for hidden cache instance.

I had that and complete boot to desktop happen several times on Friday. I attribute it to an overheating graphic card and a need to clear my cache with a machine reboot. If I have been playing without a restart for days that will happen.

I think that's what happens when you lose your connection to the server (go 'linkdead') It happens to everyone, internet connections just drop sometimes.

Try disconnecting and reconnecting your internet connection. I do this with my always-on cable modem whenever I see my connection getting slow or flakey. The same applies when you get a new connection every time as with DSL or dialup - sometimes you just get a bad one. Getting a new connection can often clear things up.

Another thing to do would be make sure nothing else on your machine or network is hogging the Internet. I've found Counter-Strike to be a serious drain on connection resources. My daughter(!) used to play it a lot and she swore it wasn't the problem, but when she wasn't there playing it I had no connection problems and vice-versa. You tell me what's going on ;)
