Getting other elves to like me?Follow

#1 Apr 24 2006 at 2:11 AM Rating: Decent
So, I've got an Dark Elf that I did the betrayal quest with. Problem now is that no elves likes me! Any way to change this? I dont like being an outcast in my own home :(

NPCs in the racial villages will never like you - they're not bad people, they're just coded that way! Players don't really care what you are! No way to ever change it afaik.

edit to spelling. (that'll teach me to post at 5AM!)

yea i once betrayed A ratonga warden. Quest npcs and merchants still dealt with him, but the cosmetic npcs (IE ones that talk but serve no purpose) would treat him bad. Odly enough the Rats around town would follow him around.

When I am in the mood I will stop and flex or gesture at the NPC who has looked down on my Dark Elf. I would never want to go back to Freeport though. It was too dang deperssing over there and far fewer peops playing. I don't think I ever saw a Commonlands 2 when I was there or when I go back.

But I have to say it's the dogs that bother me the most. I want all those nice dogies to like me and stop growling at me. LOL

At least they moved that bimbo who says "Me, talk to strangers, what would be the purpose of that." Her I always wanted to do some bodily damage to but couldn't.
LOL

Yeah, there are some NPC's I would like to hurt actually. Luckily you can switch the voice overs off so they don't repeat themselves more than once each time you play, but still.

Every time I hear that kid in Nettleville Hovel repeat "Have you ever seen a gnoll?" I just want to kick him, and preferably drop him in a group of Skindancer Gnolls.

Where is that setting?

If I hear that moron in Starcrest ask me to help him get some crunchies one more time I'm going to have a stroke.

I actually like the fact that those betrayed still get looked down upon a bit by some NOC's. It stays in character with what would most likely happen. Here youve got a dark Elf, one of the banes of High and Wood Elves, who betrayed. Sure s/he may have had a change of heart, but how do the residents know s/he wont revert back to their darker core? And the dogs growling. Hehehe thats funny

I didnt realize the dogs didnt bark at everyone. My kerran dirge never betrayed, but the dogs always seem to bark at me. That and the cats following me.

The dogs sense that betrayers dont belong in the city...but never heard a bark but of course they would bark at a kerra lol.
