My buddy is trying to get my to play EQ2 with him, but I'm torn on classes. I've played FFXI and WoW and loved to do all out damage - while looking sick at the same time >.<.

In FF I played a Dark Knight; was cool having a bigass Scythe and wearing some crazy looking armor at the same time. In WoW, played a Rogue (same thing here, crazy set of daggers, 'evil' looking armor).

I thought I was going to go with a SK here, but after reading the boards a bit, it seems the Fighter archetype is becoming a tanking class (moreso in next patch?), which is NOT something I enjoy doing.

What classes can you suggest that will do raw damage with the most 'intimidation' factor?

Thanks.

Jah, its gotten to the point where fighters can do ok damage, but not "sick" damage. They are pretty much just tanks. For "sick" damage I would suggest Warlock, Wizard, Necro, Asassain, ranger or brigand.

Warlocks are disease and DoT focused finger wigglers. They're good in groups, but soloing is about nil.

Wizards are elemental damage focused finger wigglers. They mostly have big nukes for direct damage and are realy good in groups, but as with warlocks arn't great soloers.

Necro's are the evil pet class, they get the best pets as well as some good DoT spells. They are pretty much equaly as good soloing or grouping.

Assassains are the evil rangers, and do massive damage with a bow and melee. Most of their high damage attacks are from the back, so they do better in groups than soloing.

Rangers do their best damage with a bow, they can melee, but they own from a distance. They are pretty much equaly as good grouping as soloing.

Brigands are the classic rogue, sick melee damage from behind and the flank. They do better in groups, but can still solo.
