Im a 21 Sage, and all my newest recipes, require Carbon Ink, along with some other things I cannot harvest. I dont have a recipe to make these materials myself. There also pricey to purchase, when they may be available at the broker. I was wondering, is there a Recipe book I need to be able to make Carbon ink? I want to get my sage leveled into the 50's, so I am able to create my own spells. Please help!

You now need the apothecary books to make your inks, and the timbercraft books to make your quills and paper. This will change when the completed crafting revamp finally hits, but until then you will need the cross-skill books (until your sage hits level 60 and then it goes back to the no-subcombines).

Go to your wholesaler society (the one you were originally able to join) and you should be able to buy the appropriate books. (Examine them before you purchase to make sure you are getting the right one - I can't remember offhand if you need Apothecary Volume 2 or 3 for the Carbon Ink.)

All subcombines are going away. (Basically what you were able to do with your sage from level 1-19, but it will be across all classes and for every crafted item.) It should be in place by the summer at the latest (according to the latest word anyway).

You'll have a recipe; you'll need the raws; you throw the raws into the crafting machine; press your counters and voila, you'll have your final crafted item. No more inks, quills, paper, padding, threads, buckles, etc.
