This quest is bullcrap! I really hate when they make mobs more and more difficult for their level. There is no reason a lvl 57 heroic mob should fight like a freakin epic mob! In fact I would just assume this mob be epic so you could have more then 1 group to do it, because if your not all lvl 60 you can't do it with a single group. I mean its bad when you have a lvl 60 tank, 2 healers, and 4ish dps (had some outside of group) and you STILL can't beat a NON HEROIC mob!
I get so sick of group after group after group failing on this mob. I have tried this mob 5 times now. Two of the times the group fell apart before we even attempted, One time some newb kept walking too close and wiped the group, and the other 2 times simply did not have enough firepower.
Anyways I am ticked off. I see all these people some of which are not even lvl 50 yet flying around on their carpet, and here I am 54 now and I can't get one. Pick up group after Pick up group fails or never even stays together long enough to do it. You can't hardly ever find anybody higher level to help because they all got one all ready. HEck even 90% of my guild has this carpet yet none of them ever want to put a group together (they got it from random pickup groups). I just think SOE made this mob way too hard for his level. I mean shoot dragons which are EPIC battles don't even AE for what this guy AE's for! No reason a lvl 57 heroic mob should hit like that!

Here's what I found is a good way to complete Carpet 4:
- You must have a 55+ mezzer in the group to take them one at a time.
- Have another group outside the encounter to provide Mez, heals, and DPS.
- Have a Guardian 55+ to take the first few blows.
Like you, I failed many times until I had that combination. The 56 Mezzer was outside our group, we got agro, he mezzed them, and the entire fight took less than 4 minutes.

Did they boost that last guy recently ? I know at launch they made it so that a mezzer was a necessity then they nerfed the hell out of him and ive never had problems with him :/

Thats my whole point, a group mob shouldn't require outside DPS to kill, and a lvl 57 mob shouldn't require a lvl 60 just to tank it. I mean I always thought buying legendary and Fabled gear was supposed to kinda be like twinking a little bit, but apparently SOE is building the game up to the point you will need full sets of legendary and fabled gear to keep up with the mobs :/ Begining to sound like eq1 all over again.
I really don't have any way to get a bunch of lvl 60's for this guy cause, well, most lvl 60's have this guy allready. It seemed like when I was on part 2 and 3 there was TONS and TONS of pick up groups doing this guy, now that I am actually on him there is very few. About the only people I ever find wanting to join in on this guy are peopleu nder lvl 50. And lets face it unless your a healer anybody under lvl 50 is realyl just going to take up space. Tanks/dps won't be able to land any hits/taunts and in about 2 ae's they are dead.
I don't even care so much about wanting the speed for myself, I just get sick of joining groups and being the only person at the rear of the line because I can't ever get the support to kill a heroic mob. Groups are always waiting up for me because they get to the camp quicker then me because I ahve 10% jboots and they have 40% carpet. I know I could jsut go buy a horse, but I can't stand the thought of spending status and PP for a horse when I am 1 kill away from the carpet.
MAybe I should start looking for another guild, it does seem like the one I am in now is pretty do-less. I mean I very seldom ever get a exp group with guild members and when I do it seems like they just want to kill solo mobs.
