I was just wondering if Fishing exsisted in Everquest II? I have not seen it mentioned, though I briefly have looked over some of the topics. It was in EQOA, not sure about the original EQ. Final Fantasy XI, and most other MMORPG's have it in some form.

Yep you can fish...just find any body of water and tab around until you see something called "shoal of fish" or "group of fish" or "{something} of fish" hehe. And then either double-click it or right click and choose harvest. And you will be fishing. Just watch out for nearby aggro.

As your skill rises, you will be able to fish in the more difficult zones. You need to start fishing on either the starter Isle or in the T1 zones to get your fishing skill to at least 20 to be able to fish in Antonica or the Commonlands.

Hope that helps!

Indeed you can. As Dellannah noted, fish are just another harvesting node. You can harvest them on the island or in any zone that has water... which is like saying all of them!

Priests (and probably some finger wigglers) have a natural advantage in fishing since they get underwater breathing spells.

There are normally 3 different types of fish in each tier, however T5 seems to only have two. Regardless of the variety, heading out into the water near any dock/bell will get you access to more nodes than you can shake a pole at...

BTW - make food out of the fish and you will end up with +agi food. (And most scouts

Yea I need to get my fishing up. I currently can only fish tier 3 zones and I am up to tier 5 provisoning. Fish harvests are too expensive on broker. Actually ALL provisioner stuff is generally too expensive on broker :/

Its really sad when you do a search for raw harvests and you see the foods others have made out of them cheaper then the raw harvest.

Fishing is one of the easiest ways for Provisioners to level up because the nodes are basically always there. Other harvesters don't go near them much.

C'mon Frong, go harvesting for your supplies. I can't remember the last time I bought a raw for cooking Smiley: smile

Neither can I... in fact I can't remember the last time I bought ANY raws from the broker and my bank vaults are full to bursting with various food items, wood, pelts, metals and stone... from 3 different tiers! And this is in spite of making a habit of giving away stacks of raw materials to young crafters in my guild... Harvesting is easy. There is no excuse for not harvesting what you need save lazyness...

I am going to be on everquest 2 maby in a few days im a returning player who loves fishing. Just havent been to eq 2 do to obtain adventure classes which made me stressed doing em and took forever.I heard that they dont got those no more which makes it easier from people on everquest one. Anyways I have plenty of patience to fish and eq 2 i remember fishing is easier then eq 1 you have faster chances of catchign new fish. Speaking of which i havent been on eq 2 since 2005 is there any new fish i should be aware of? Just curious for I love fishing:) And still yet to obtain expansions pack for eq 2 may get one next month. I own eq 2 platinum with expansions and blood line cronicles just need the others. But don't mind waiting fo r them since i havent played eq 2 that much do to that obtain adventure class prob.:)

They have already replied to the threat about how you can fish, but want to note that with the recent updates (24-27) fishing now has one or at most two types of fish available. Part of that reduction in recipes deal that went in on LU24.
