...And as the lord, Allakhazam, shone down his mighty light on this thread the words echo'd from his heavens..."Let the flames cometh"

PS: Vanguard..I heard about that game..Its suppose to die a month or 2 after it releases...Right.

Proof that there CAN be too many MMORPGs.

Actually seeing as how there is more ppl using their forums on their website than ppl playing EQ2 i really doubt it will die 2 months after release. Ok maybe a bit exagerated, but i know that the wait for the game is H-U-G-E ! There are 2 ppl from my EQ2 guild that have been accepted into beta. I havent seen them log in since.

You must admit, the game looks nice, ive had my eyes on it for a while and i will definately try it, sorry if EQ2 addicts are offended. In fact, i must admit im more afraid of EQ2 shrinking to a critical point 2 months after Vanguard came out rather than Vanguard disappearing...

just my 2 coppers.

Eh, it does look nice..But that was kinda a problem when Eq2 came out..It required a good PC to run it so it didn't look like crap..Casual gamers don't want to throw out how much ever money they have to to get a decent MMO that they will only play casually..I hadn't really looked too deep into Vanguard before, I saw a few pics, heard some info, yadda yadda..But I think an MMO will fall this year..Take your pick..Eq2, SWG, D&DO or whatever..

Not so sure, if Vanguard is popular, they might attract new people (like WoW did) and people from other games.

Some will come from WoW, but EQ II best remain vigilant. Not sure about current numbers, but merging isn't a good sign (even if a good move most likely).

And let's not forget that Star Trek online is due next year Smiley: smile

But that's getting ahead of ourselves I suppose.

When you said "Fall" did you mean Fail?

Who cares what games are released?

Just enjoy the ones you like.

Being that I brought it up...I guess you could say....I do. Just like I'm allowed to enjoy playing Eq2..I'm allowed to enjoy discussing about how other games are doing for population..Now let me enjoy.

I didn't rate the OP down because he advertised a different site. I did, however, rate him down for his horrible choice of colors. Colorful posts are so last year.

I'm keeping an eye on Vanguard, mainly because I love crafting. I like the ideas they've spoken about regarding their crafting system and it's importance in the game world. I do NOT like the direction EQ2 crafting is going in ATM.

Right now, though, Vanguard is still nothing but a lot of hype. It wouldn't be the first anticipated MMO to be cancelled before launch. It's behiind schedule yet still in very early Beta, the people in Beta can't talk about the game due to the NDA, and the devs aren't talking on the public boards like they used to.

Ultra hard-core MMO players think it's going to be the second coming of EQLive without any of the streamlining (aka "dumbing down") current MMO's have in many areas. Personally I think that might be a good thing, within reason. (Please, for the love of God, don't put in 30 hour camps...) However, the 1600 pound gorilla Microsoft is paying for this. Given the current popularity of WoW I cannot see MS allowing Sigil free reign to make a hardcore-only MMO that will serve a niche market at best. MS has tried to get several MMO's online and hasn't really been successful yet.

I believe Sigil is fighting tooth and nail for everything they want against the MS marketing machine that wants WoW 2.
