EverQuest II: Kingdom of the Sky shipping errorFollow

That's right, Sony Online Entertainment has messed up their shipping of the Kingdom of the Sky expansion to Europe by shipping the expansion with some missing files, requiring a lenghty download. In order to make things right with the players that are frustrated with this error, SOE is offering all affected subscribers a free week of game time. Does this make everything ok? I guess that is a matter of opinion.

"We've been made aware of an issue with the European distribution of Kingdom of Sky that can cause our European customers to experience lengthy download times as a result of missing files on the disc. As such, we will be granting customers who purchased the European distribution of KoS an extra week of free game time after registering a Kingdom of Sky key. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."

I see nothing wrong on SOE part. They immediatly fixed problem with the additional down load, and then gave evryone effected a free week that they didnt have to.

If the download takes less than a week then I think they were more than generous compensating for the inconvenience.

Also, there is a lengthy download on installing KoS anyway. I bought the retail version and I had a 30 minute download on a 3Meg cable modem.

Since your "MMORPG-Articles" link goes to a page with nothing but glowing WoW propaganda, I'd chalk this one up as a troll.

You aren't looking deep enough here. This is a pro-EQ2 sony company poster, masquerading as a WoW troll to post something Sony did really good, eliciting a knee-jerk reaction against WoW trolls to solidify our Sony love. I'm sure we could take this three more circles of conspiracy theory down, but the sad part is that big companies pay people to troll user forums and bring in business for their products...

Wow you think 30 mins. is lengthy? Consider yourself lucky. I'm on dialup. Try 12 hour download. Smiley: motz Now, that's lengthy!

Well, compared to the usual 0 to 1 minute, yes ;)

I know it would be a lot longer on a slower connection, that's why I made note of what mine is.
