One thing that's really confusing me about the new AP system.

Each of the paths requires you to equip a specific weapon type?

Is this the same for all classes?

And it seems that for the Stamina path, Guardians who normally use Tower shields are required to wear a Buckler Smiley: eek

Having trouble getting my head around this Smiley: bah

Yes every class has weapon equip type associated for each path. I believe it is part of making choices for new abilities. Though some like making a tank use a buckler when using the defensive line is a bit unusual.

You can just carry around a few different weapon types, very similair to what raiders carry in case a mob is immune to something.

But in your case, you would use it to enable a particular AP effect. Maybe you can start with a high damage AP (and appropriate weapon), then switch to a high defense AP (and appropriate weapon) as necessary.

Yea with my paladin it goes by various types of weapons (Axes/pierceing/blunt/swords and forgot the last). I currently have a blunt weapon though so I will probably go with that route (which is STA anyways, can't wrong with STA as a paladin).

If you buy handcrafted items it don't really matter what you use since they have do the same dps.

The fifth path, int is the idol path for pallies. Though
on my low pally, I wouldnt think of using an idol instead of a shield.

I can actually see these affecting player choices, not my dirge, but definitly my swashy. Having an ability to use that requires a rapier, but will turn the mob around for a back stab is a great ability for soloing.

Well I sure hope when it says Buckler and Hammer that it actually ends up being Shield and crush weapon because I'm thinking Sta and Wis at present. Smiley: smile

As i've said in another post somewhere, its just a way to tell us what to wear. I had to give up on my glowing wooden crook (T6 fabled 2 handed staff) because i didnt want to go int path. If they wanted to use a stat for each path, then i think it would have been much more logical to have a min. required for the said stat. For example, a level 60 templar could need 350 wisdom at any given time for his abilities to be usable. The min could be less if the same templar would go agility, maybe like 100. That would make ppl still make decisions regarding their gear and would avoid the situation where every single necro in the game wears the same single dagger because they went STR path to get pet implosion...

As for me, templar and wis path = symbol in second hand. Picked that because, well, last ability reads like that :
-Absorbs 1000 undead attacks
-Unless attack would hit for more than 50% of total health

I smell a nerf :D

Overall the abilities seem cool, i just dont really like how they are implemented.
