Overpowered / Underpowered ?Follow

I just recently gave up on WoW, and now i'm getting ready to start playing some EQ2. I never played EQ1 so i'm completely in the blue.

Is there an Overpowered class in the game or an Underpowered class? I tend to enjoy the "underpowered" class so long as it isn't just plain useless, i enjoy the challenge.

Also, how does the PvP compare to WoW and the PvE as well i suppose... thanks.

We've only had full-fledged PvP for 2 days now so I don't think there can be any judgements made as to which of the 24 classes has an advantage or disadvantage at this stage. If any class is shown to have a clear advantage you can be sure it will be nerfed. Like wise if a class is clearly wanting, they would probably get some love. With so many classes I think you're going to find a rock-paper-scissors dynamic, more so than in WoW. Also bear in mind that SOE can balance spells and arts to work differently in PvP than in PvE, so it's easier for them to balance PvP and not effect PvE.

IMHO, the PvE here is more interesting and varied than in WoW, and is geared a little more toward grouping. Getting in a full group and killing tough enemies for experience is much more rewarding than it is in WoW, where most people only group to finish a quest they can't do alone. You can also solo all the way to the level cap if you want, or duo/small group. Quests here are as abundant as they are in WoW, but they're much more varied, and some of them have much better rewards. You can get gear that would correlate to Epic class stuff in WoW when you do Heritage Quests at your level.

There is no real "overpowered" or "underpowered" class. Gaurdians,Berzerkers,Shadow Knights, and Paladins are ment to tank. Monks and Bruisers can tank and have decent DPS. Rangers,Swashbucklers,Assasins,Brigans,Troubadors, and Dirges benifit the group from strong Melee/ranged attacks (rangers for ranged). The spellcasters deal good damage with their spells, while Conjourors and Necromancers have pets to fight beside them. And of course there priest classes who have different ways of healing such as a clerics heals,Wardens tick heals, and Mystics wards
