I was wondering how they are. I really think this class looks interesting I was wondering about there grouping abilities as well as there soloing abilities and the difficulty of playing them. This will pretty much be my first char and I want something that is relatively easy to learn. I was on Highkeep but I think now it will be butcherblock. Also what race would be a good choice for this class. Thanks

The good news is that any race can be any class, no restrictions. It's all about what you want to play, so make something fun!

Swashbucklers have the ability to stealth, track, and attack from behind/flank/hidden. Additionally, you will have attacks linked to Thrown Weapons (axe, knife, etc). Rangers will be characterized with bows. You can also, but your attacks are linked to Thrown.

A typical way to attack is stealth, attack from behind, stun, leap behind and do a rear attack, repeat. It's a little coomplicated at first, but once you get a battle rythym set, it works like a charm.

Some of your attacks also have root, stun, mez, slow, haste (for you), and others.

You won't be able to stand toe-to-toe with a mob, as your armor will be limited. However, your fast attacks, stealth, and high damage will make sure the fight is fast.

If you are in a group, you might pull agro onto yourself due to the high DPS you are putting out. It will take some time to learn the right amoount of DPS and skills to use for the best benefit.

If you haven't picked a server yet, you might want to consider Najena. There are many folks of all level ranges there, plus a few from this board. When you get there, look me up. I can help you get started with some gear, directions, spells, and coin.

They can also be fun for roleplaying, doing the whole dashing pirate thing.

Good luck!

Funny when I saw these post. I just started EQ2 a week ago and thats what I made. Level 12 atm but haven't grouped yet and taking my time to learn this game. Feel like such a noob. But thats kool. going out today to buy a new keyboard. Was thinking about the Zboard thing. Don't know much about it but will check it out.

Ah, the misery. :(

I im also new to eq2, am just about to start playing after the trial version and when me and my friend is selecting server I will consider Najena.

And on another sidenote. The majority in EQ2 seems abit more "adult" than the players from my last 1,5 years of WoW.

Sounds like its going to be a pleasent experience to start the EQ2 road.

Best Regards

Been awhile since someone posted on this thread but the comment about swashy's not doing high DPS made me laugh. Every time my tank friend and I group she laughs about the damage I do and how often I can pull aggro when I really want to. May not be as great as what a brigand can do but still good enough to make people think twice about double crossing me *wink*

I came from playing an enchanter in EQ1 and couldn't stand it in EQ2. Created the swashy out of desperation to play a fun toon again and she is still my fav even now a year later.
