Hey, I'm just looking around for a good class to stick to since I'm new... The main thing about a Bard I want to know is what their songs actually song like? I've come from Ragnarok Online where I was a Bard, and I'd often be paid small amounts of money to play at bars and guild meetings. Some of the songs in that were really cool, and actually listenable. Could I expect the same from Bards in this? Are any of the songs actually good to listen to? Or are they just stupid tunes, if any music at all?
Sorry to burst your bubble of hope, but EQ2 has not progressed that far. Our songs are buffs/debuffs and have a short music to them, not enough to really listen to, to ones that pull out a lute or drums are a bit more musical, but still not what you are talking about.
I do like your idea, and might suggest it SoE, and maybe they would implement something similar someday, after we get instruments though.

Thanks! Guess that takes Bards off the list of possible classes for now. (No offense to you Bards =P)
really right now no class does anything unique like what you describe. So you may have to play and see what you like, atleast now you dont have to get to 20+ to see the basics of what a class can do.
I will say if you are looking for damage dont look at bards, they are on the low end, being more of a group buffing class.
