Hi

I keep looting a Sky essence - it's not sellable and doesn't seem to do anything.
Am I missing something?

Ive been wondering the same thing. They drop like crazy and i talked to every npc in the game that is a scholar or a scholar wanna be or so and didnt get anything. Regarding as how it is a SKY essense, I ended up thinking it would have something to do with the upcoming expansion, kingdom of SKY. Just my opinion though...unless someone found out what they are for ???

I have to agree that its for the expansion, maybe for the upcoming world event later this month. Its a recent drop and drops off of every 10th mob or so regardless of level range. I cant wait till the event is done because this item is starting to get on my nerves by leaving bodies lying around because no one can loot the item.

Maybe you'll need one to use the teleporters for KoS?

I believe that's the case. I think it was covered in a different post...the old EQ1 teleporters would zip you to the Nexus (picture a bus transfer station) where you could take teleporters to other places.

If I recall, the ground-based porters operated every 15 or 30 minutes. So you would have to sit and wait for it to activate, be inside the arch, and away you go.

I'll bet the EQ2 version will have similiar ground-based porter arches, but be a bit faster, probably instantaneous.

That wait for the spires wasn't so bad, and it gave you a chance to meet new people. I would like to see at least 5 minutes or so, if only for continuity. The streamlined travel in EQ2 is nice but we don't have opportunities to strike up a chat with other players that EQ1 artificially, but intentionally, created.

I wonder if you will always need to get a shard drop and have it in your inventory to telepoort. In EQ1 you just asked the operator for one. We might have to do a quest to get a permanent version, ala Splitpaw.
