Hello, all. I used to play long ago when eq2 first came out. befor the vampire expansion thing came out. Anyways how much has changed? and is the game ganna take me in the same way eq1 did, and ffxi is?

but my real question comes with... can my new laptop play the game?
here are the stats:

i have a Dell Insprion 6000
pentium M processor 1.73 GHz
795 MHZ 1.00 GB of RAM
my card in it is a ATI Mobility Radeon X300.

i dont know what else i need, i have a cable connection, i can play ffxi no problem on high settings.... so is there anything else i need for it or will this work?

The most critical part of your system would be the video card. How much RAM is on it? You would need at least 128MB to not be crippled. I believe you can also allocate part of your laptop ram to the video.

As far as the changes go, there have been a huge amount of changes from combat to spells to monster toughness to tradeskilling to quests. It's almost a new, and better, game.

There have been a few new releases, Splitpaw Saga (adventure pack) and Desert of Flames (expansion pack). Both are worth it to get.

A soon to be released expansion pack will be out, Kingdom of Sky, which will bump up the level cap again to 70, and the digital download will also include the basic EQ2 game.

A soon to be released Live Update will change the character progression. The old way was to reach levl 10, pick a archtype, reach level 20, pick your final class. That meant you had to spend 20 levels just to find out what your class could do.

Now, you will pick your final class when you begin your character. You can start as a level 1 Shadowknight, level 1 Conjurer, level 1 Ranger, etc.

When you first log in you will be asked to choose a class. When you wake up, all of your existing spells will have been converted to the "correct" versions based on the class chosen. Any spells or combat arts that are exchanged and that you have upgraded (to adept 1 for example), will show up with the new name at whatever level the original was. Any spell scrolls you have banked can still be scribed and will morph into the spell with the proper new name.

Frogs are everywhere! They have been unlocked on almost every server for months now and there are plenty of frogs to be found in every class and tier of experience. They also look pretty funny riding on horseback! Haven't seen one on a magic carpet yet but I'm sure they're out there somewhere!
