This may seem like a stupid question, but it is one i dont know the answer to. I haven't followed the storyline for eq2 as close as i should have so the answer may be in that but:
Are queen bayle and the overlord in the game? I remember from eq1 that cain bayle was not actually in the game (although kayne balye was in an area under qeynos). So am i correct in assuming that these two characters are just there for storyline but not actually in the game?

Speaking from the perspective of a lvel 39 Dark Elf Bard who calls Qeynos her home I have only seen the overloard one time. When I started my defection from the oppresive dark streets of Freeport someone betrayed me to him. I was handed over to him, judged, found guily and slain by the overlord.
But...isn't there always a but? I thought I just recently read somewhere that they were going to change the whole betrayl scene so that may no longer be the case.

I've never seen either of them in person. I have seen the Queen's statue come to life and give a speech a couple times. During the plague she gave us instructions (like don't leave corpses on the steet, wait for the cart to come by and pick them up.) The other was just a general pep-talk, yay goodness and light, boo evil and Freeport kinda thing.
The Castle in Qeynos is off-limits, I guess to everyone. Maybe it's a guild status entitlement no guild has reached yet, or privilege granted at a high level no one can reach yet.

I know on the dvd there is a video that shows lucan like he is rallying some troops inside of a room (no not the betrayal room where he has you killed). However I have yet to hear of anybody finding a way in to see either of them. I also seen a animation that showed Antonia bayle walking around the qeynos claymore in N. Qeynos, but once again never seen it myself.
I had heard rumors if your guild was maxed out and you was lvl 50 you could get in, but I have since then talked to players above 50 with maxed out guilds who do not have access to see either of them.
Seems kinda lame really to pay a actor to do Lucans voice and yet you only hear him randomly from a statue in FP, by clicking the statue in your inn room, clicking the coin, or betraying.
